So I just recently got back from the police station.
And no, before you all start, I was not arrested for committing a sex crime.
A friend was arrested for drunk driving and I went to go and bail him out.
What fun. Leaving a really nice get-together to go and sit for four hours in a dingy little police station while they processed his arrest and bail.
SAPS have the sloooowest mainframe in the world....
And the some seriously ugly female officers. I swear one was checking me out the whole time. If only I was drunk as some of the people in their holding cell - she might have gotten lucky!

And mainframes are still alive and kicking, bru.
I used to do support for one of the largest mainframes in SA until about a year ago.
Well, I would have to be pretty drunk and desperate... even more so than I usually am on most weekends.Tribble wrote:And as for the cop - perhaps you should go back one night

Re: Jamin_za
Thread necro - needed to share a blonde moment....
Saturday I was asked by a friend to help her pick out a new PC. She wanted a Mac, but I threatened to hang up the phone...
So we go off the the local Hi-Fi Corp-esq grey importer of electronic goods (she "doesn't trust" speciality computer shops)
She promptly falls in love with the god-awful Acer all in one machine - the ones that have eveything built into the screen... bleh
Anyway, it's her money, and the specs were half decent - enough for facebook, skype and the odd Excel spreadsheet so we buy it and off to her place.
Setting the PC up was easy - switching the bluetooth mouse and keyboard on and booting the device up. It comes up, but the peripherals dont detect. I can use the touchscreen to get around, but it's hell annoying. I try to RTFM but that's about as useful as my nipples. So I call Acer who gove me perfunctory 'take it back to the shop'. Get back there only to have some teenage farkwit tell me I'm doing it wrong. Apparently the mouse and keyboard were not bluetooth as I expected, but wireless, and the USB reciever was inside the mouse and had to be taken out and plugged into the PC....
Friend went and enquired about swapping the PC for a Mac while I raged and fumed at a 60 inch plazma TV playing a Beyonce concert...
