Best Hot Hatch
What do you think is the best hot hotch at the moment in terms of bang-for-yer-buck?
I would love to get my hands on the Peugeot GTi 180. It has 130kw of power, and does the sprint in 7.72seconds.
No Golf GTI stands a chance.....

hmm by the end of the year if all goes according to plan i should be driving the Peugeot 206 GTi 180.
the OPC is also damn hot, however - if you are looking for the HOTTEST hatch there is it has to be the Ford Focus RS - it's basicall the ST170 - but turbo'd and with a very very special differential.
check it out here (go to the "Car Focus" section)

Yeah its quite a decent car in terms of power, and I love the sound of the V6. Now if only i had some money for an air filter/turbo upgrade... And maybe some body mods..., such as this one...you own a mazda mx6 hey?

OH NO! Not another VTEC driver.... Just kidding. Which VTEC are you reffering to?? Do you mean *dare I say it* $hitty 170i Civic VTEC???Laurence wrote:Sorry, guys.. that last post was from me, my PC never auto logged me in!! Stupid thing... What about the Clio V6 - mid engined and glorious.
Are they even for sale here anymore? THe only thing i saw of them is that there were 5 in jhb at the end of last year.
Nothing will touch em in the hot-hatch category (and not many other categories either).
btw Laurence the GTI-R is exactly the same engine/chasis/suspension etc.. as the straight forward GTI. Only difference is the body kit and some internal tweaks. But you're right is looks really pukka
My ma's just bought a new Polo tdi 1.4 and i'm really impressed with it. Not really a hot hatch in terms of speed or acceleration but its a really well built car and plenty of torque.

Hell no!!! I am referring to the 160i DOHC VTec Engine (1997-2000).. 1.6 Twincam and alot faster!!! Plus when, you add a powerflow, branch, Full induction system and Uni-Chip to the engine.. Things really start to get blurry!!-ASSASSIN- wrote:OH NO! Not another VTEC driver.... Just kidding. Which VTEC are you reffering to??
