Super car to be built in SA
Just read some stuff on wheels24 - and found some really cool info regarding a new British designed car that is to be asembled in SA.
Vital Stats:
0-100km/h in 4.3
Max Speed 305
Max Torque 522Nm
Max Power 300 kw
Weight 1141
at first glance it appears very Ferrari Ezo-ish (those twin intakes on the front) but on closer inspection (drooling at my pc screen for 1 min) it is evident that the front end is actually very similar to that of the Lamborgini Murcielago (the lihts anyway) -- i haven't got a pic of a Murcielago to compare to so i might be a bit off but lets hear what you think. ?

Just BTW, this car was originally designed by a german that wanted to further develop and produce this model. He then sold the blueprints to a German in SA,,, that is where I lost track of it about 4 years ago. I can remember from to 2 originals that it was supposed to have different models, a V8 and a V6 (which is what we see here). It also has a lot of fibre optics (for switching lights etc) which is why a car of it's size is so much lighter. The material they wanted to use for most of the subframe and body was poly-carb and carbon fibre and a full steal front end subframe. This all obviously might have changed over time, the car looks the same still, exept for the lights

er...no chance guys...the car does look nice, but its more coupe-ish than the lambo.
I dig the rear end, the front is a bit over done if you ask me.
The Lambo on the other hand....ooooooooohh.... 8O
Have loved the make since I saw my first Countach. And this latest incarnation is the sweetest yet, love the sculpted lines. The 'smaller " v-10 Gallardo is just as sexy, if not more.

It's all good, you can keep it. Not fast enuff. I f a 2 liter Toyota twincam puts that puts out 850Kw and 1146Nm of torque can beat it's 0-100(3.58 seconds) then ja, I think I'll take the latter rather. (then again I think it might have something to do with the attached T66 turbo..... ) Me is a mega speed junkie, never fast enough, I was looking at my lawnmower the other day wondering what a turbo on it would do. Heh heh. The "Supercar" does look rather spiffy though. By the way my car does quarter mile in 8.6 seconds at a speed of 255.8Km\h No THAT's fast.

What car is that...?? By the way, the whole point of a supercar is that it has sustainable power. Not something that every hundred kays you have to strip the thing to pieces just to find out your conrods have snapped in half....Charger1406 wrote:By the way my car does quarter mile in 8.6 seconds at a speed of 255.8Km\h No THAT's fast.
EDIT: Ok sorry I assume your car is the Toyota....?

*Edit* Grrr at 56k dial-up. Double post believe it or not. By the way the toyota aint mine(Wish it was though) It's owned by the owner of Nitrous and turbo. Louis Lima. Don't know him personally but know of him. Read Speed and Sound for a coupla of months and see the light. ANd they're DEFINATLY not a You magazine, they use real life cars.

got a link to that, that you can post or maybe an article in the magazine you mentioned that can back up those stats!Charger1406 wrote:It's all good, you can keep it. Not fast enuff. No, conrods connect your pistons to your crankshaft.(Conrods=Connecting Rods)
Edit: By the way, yes conrods snap when you use too much boost from the turbo. But I doubt that it happens with the toyota.

HP wars are stupid, I'd rather see a weight war(power to weight ratio).
Thats where I think the murcielago fails. All these new supercars coming
out these days look too similiar, too retro IMO. I'd like too see 80's/early 90's exotics types. The only 2 cars that catch my eye is the honda HSC
and the crystler ME4.

Nice , but Id rather buy myself a pagani Zonda... Now THAT is a car that moves at less than the Mclaren F1 and is faster than the Murcielago {However u spell that awful name...}
Not the greatest top speed on that car... im not too impressed...
