Thunder struck

Post by thEnaileDonE »

So I had to rush home last night (well actually early this morning) +- 3-o-clock when my wife phones me here at work letting me know our house is flooded...

So I get home and I close the water (initially I typed "blocked in the water", that is what it would have been called her at work...) and start helping to mop up the water... sucky at that time at night...

Go back to work to fetch my stuff (we knock of at 05H30) and then go back home, but this time the sun is shining and I notice bricks and cement lying all over the place and I'm like WTF?

Have a careful look around the house and there I find the top of the one wall of the house blown away by lightning... I'm like 8O ....

Finally figure out it was a drain valve (I mean tap) that started to leak on the geyser so I tighten it and opened the water again and put the power back to the geyser... slept for two hours before the wife wakes me again because the safety valve of the geyser had popped and it was blowing steam (yes, thats how hot the water had become) out into the back yard... so off with the power again and back to bed...

This sucks... tomorrow I will find out if OUTsurance is all it's cracked up to be :?

D@mn ..... sorry to hear of your misfortune. Hope insurance sorts it out all for you.

So, what was it that blew away the wall? lightning or the blowing steam?

Post by Zero »

A bit Off topic here, but hi to the Secunda guys.
Soz about the misfortune there theNail, hope insurance sort you out quick.

Used to stay in Bethal for a while and just remesenced about some good times there.

Any one remember club Zylite or what was that club in Kinross with the indoor pool dance floor? Had some good times there.

Swiss Ranch still any good nowadays? Must go have dinner there again. Best restuarant in the valley.

Oh well some good memories in the Tex area.
