MXit is a message exchange program for your cell phone. That means you can chat to people on their PC's and to other MXit users on their mobiles, from your mobile, anywhere in the world.
In other words, it enables you to send and receive text messages to and from phones and PC’s that are connected to the Internet.
Communication has never been easier.
Messages are sent and received via the mobile internet (GPRS/3G), rather than standard SMS technology - So each time you chat you are allowed up to 2000 characters at a fraction of the cost of a SMS! Exchange messages with MXit users or other online chat communities like MSN messenger, or ICQ – Anywhere, anytime!
You can download MXit for FREE. That's right. It's absolutely FREE. And best of all, to send a message costs you less than 1 cents per message. (That is 1 South African cent and is billed by your service provider and added to your GPRS data cost) That's because MXit runs on GPRS/3G. (The technology that connects your mobile to the Internet) Great way to cut down on your SMS bill, isn't it?
The first step is to check if MXit can be downloaded on your mobile. See if your phone manufacturer and model is listed at our wapsite at http://www.mxit.co.za/wap
(Unfortunately not all phones can run applications like MXit. If yours can't, don't worry - our technology is evolving at the speed of light. We constantly update the list and will probably be adding your phone pretty soon.)

It works like crap and irritates people...capanno wrote:Its free, and it works, and it saves you money. Please, please just shut up.Psych0_Cr1tt3r wrote:It's a chat client for cell phones. It sucks, the people who use it are idiots and it's a waste of time.
Its not free, it still costs money to send the sms...
IT is also an addiction amongst youth and shows bad manners when people sit and log on / log off every 2 minutes just to check if they have a sms...
Dont tell someone else to shut up... Shut up yourself then...

surprisingly supportable in that there is zero encryption support...capanno wrote:Rather say, I dont like mxit, instead of saying IT SUX all the people who use it are idiots
we need to learn that unsecured communication, regardless of how "free" it is, is no longer our friend...
