Kaizer Chiefs are set to play English Premiership champions Arsenal in South Africa next year.
The announcement was made on the Amakhosi website following a meeting between the two clubs bosses, Kaizer Motaung and David Dein, at a Fifa soccer expo in Dubai this week.
Motaung and Dein are part of a delegation from clubs and federations throughout the world.
They formed a friendship that led to the proposal of a possible match next year.
If all goes well, the game will mark Chiefs' 35th anniversary. According to the Chiefs website, Dein, who was presented with the South African club's jersey, was interested in the proposed match.
Arsenal spokesperson Katy Willis said the proposed match was only speculation at this stage.
"There is nothing official at the moment and all we know is that the two club bosses met and became friends," Willis said.
Responding to the story, Chiefs manager Bobby Motaung said the meeting between the two club bosses was merely to make friends and exchange expertise.
"If anything comes of it, we will make an announcement in due course," Motaung said.
Chiefs earlier turned down an invitation to play Manchester United early next year. They cited a congested fixture for their decision.
Orlando Pirates were reported to be interested in filling in for Chiefs.
Guess who's coming to SA !!!! (well... maybe ...)

Well know that is something i am not really interested in but I have information that the F1 championship will definetively be coming to SA in 2006 or 2007. They have been commisioned by Burny Ecelstone to build a racing track of which the designing phase is currently under way.
