Re: The Series Thread
Ya, Watched Arrow as well, looks good.
Also watching season 2 of Shameless. Quite funny and really enjoying it.
Then also Last Resort, got my hands on the 1st 3 episodes and am liking it as well. Some things are a bit irritating- huge lack of discipline for an active navy crew. Amongst other things
And then Vampire Diaries also started with the 4th season and brings an interesting turn of events. Somehow I feel as if I've missed the whole of season 3, even though I have watched it
Seems my plans to get through Stargate will have to wait...

If you read the comic you will know the Prison saga is pretty hardcore.
Apparently they have stayed more true to the comics for this season than previous ones, so look forward to it

Re: The Series Thread
Last week was a bit of a win for TV series. Loved the latest episodes of Bones and the Mentalist. Once Upon a Time was pretty decent, and Arrow is turning into pure win imho.
Now if only they would start calling him Green Arrow instead of The Hood . . .

Re: The Series Thread
Will wait and see if "The Arrow" continues with a second season before viewing it.
I started watching season 1 of "Two Broke Girl$" and really enjoying it!
Boardwalk Empire is so good! As is The Walking Dead and not to forget DEXTER!
I absolutely adore "Happy Endings" so much better than "How I met your ma" in terms of a group of friends getting up to zany shenanigans kind of series. The cast mesh so well together and play off each other perfectly.

Re: The Series Thread
Arrow is worth catching now. Knowing Americans - it will be cancelled
Re: The Series Thread
Arrow is loosely based on the Green Arrow comics - so theres plenty of storyline that they could develop for a second season and its been having a fairly decent following so far so it should continue onWill wait and see if "The Arrow" continues with a second season before viewing it
anyways it is an okay series and im enjoying it so far
the others that i wont miss (ie must watch) that are currently airing on TV right now are (in no particular order)
Hawaii 5-0
the mentalist
Fringe
Perception
Revolution

Re: The Series Thread
I didn't think Last Resort would keep going.
It didn't really strike me as all that well put together- for one thing the characters are way too slack. Even within the fictional event that it is, I don't think it accurately portrays a military unit.
Regardless of that, I enjoyed it as well.
Another one that managed to sneak by is the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It's an animated/kids show but I really like it
And of course, Patrick Jane is as always, freaking brilliant!

Re: The Series Thread
i sincerely wish they would... the story is, frankly, steeped in psychotic aberrations with very little narrative impetus...Stuart wrote:I really doubt that Arrow will be cancelled after Season 1.

it's borderline swills-&-swoons for the mentally challenged, or hormonally imbalanced 14yr old... terrible fiction at its worst...

Except he doesn't really kill people.
And he believes it's his father (not "everyone") who wants him to do it.
And he only believes that because his father actually asked him to do so.
Wow, you really paid attention in that one episode, didn't you? I must remember to take to heart every opinion you offer from this point forward.

Re: The Series Thread
it involved some silly flashbacks and plenty of pointless shirtless-ness... ala sparkly-vampire rubbish..Stuart wrote:you really paid attention in that one episode
actually, the writing is on pretty much the same level as that sparkly-vampire rubbish...
as to the not killing people, i'm pretty sure i recall a number of bodyguards taking arrows to the sternum... unless they don't count or those were only flesh wounds? :/ (not that it matters...)

Re: The Series Thread
Well, yes, as he did in the comics, Green Arrow is willing to use lethal force to defend himself and others. You seemed to suggest that he was setting out to deliberately kill people on The List, whereas, so far, he has shown more interest in bringing them to justice non-lethally.rustypup wrote:as to the not killing people, i'm pretty sure i recall a number of bodyguards taking arrows to the sternum... unless they don't count or those were only flesh wounds? :/ (not that it matters...)

Re: The Series Thread
so if you're *not* on the list, killing you doesn't count?..
how is this anything other than celebrating/justifying the actions of a delusional psychopath?
as stories go, it has all the depth, scope and ingenuity of a nosebleed...
also, don't get me started on the lunacy inherent in that revenge nonsense...
or that revolution rubbish which is clearly hunger-games-for-tv...
apparently, i don't really get any enjoyment out of television programming whatsoever...

Re: The Series Thread
I struggle to see you getting enjoyment from anything for that matter. Except maybe from whining about not getting entertainment from anything. Almost like an emo kid
