i can tell you've never met the business end of a stick trimmed from a mulberry tree... thin, whippy and quite capable of producing bleeding welts if wielded with sufficient skill...

I'm old enough to have been the subject of corporal punishment, specifically at school, though nothing close to what is possible. I have heard some horror stories though from when the police (directly from coppers at a police station during a class visit, along with other punishments/totures) still handed out corporal punishments, specifically to our darker skinned brothers.
