Madagascar was quite good actually. I thoroughly enjoyed it.Molean wrote:MIB 3 was just more of the same, albiet a different twist in the story.
Of those choices, I would go for Prometheus, then SWATH, but I'd skip on Madagascar all together...

Fair enough, I am not the biggest Animated Film fan...unless they have heart or some sort of meaning behind the story...for example UP and The Incredibles...but when I see a Zebra dressed up like a clown, singing polka dot circus...I can do nothing but cringe...SykomantiS wrote:Madagascar was quite good actually. Re: The Movie Thread
Just saw the new Spiderman.
Went in not expecting much but was pleasantly surprised.
Well worth watching.
Garfield is a more believable Peter Parker and its a more realistic imagining of the story
Added bonus: unlike Kirsten Dunst, Emma Stone is a hottie!

Re: The Movie Thread
Went to go watch the new spiderman last week wednesday in 3D, was kinda impressed by the 3D, maybe because it was my first 3D movie, but IMO that actor plays a better spiderman than old tobie, he's so emotionless like old twilight

Madagascar 3 wasn't as funny as I was anticipating. Ice Age 4 next up, then Spiderman (pscyhed!).

Re: The Movie Thread
Hey, the first two garnered some laughs from me, so I was at least expecting a lol or two this time around. Nothing was really forthcoming. The best part of the experience was the preview for Brave before the movie started.jamin_za wrote:Stuart wrote:Madagascar 3 wasn't as funny as I was anticipating.Stuart wrote:I was anticipatingYou were "anticipating" Madagascar 3?Stuart wrote:anticipating

Well, Ice Age 4 was definitely more entertaining than Madagascar 3. Friday morning for Spider-man.

It was alright, it has a certain amount of humour to it, although that is dependant on your person...I thought it could have been better...

Re: The Movie Thread
I enjoyed Ali-G, and Borat for me was probably his best outing into film of that stature. I haven't watched Bruno, as it doesn't appeal to me. This almost felt like a weak combination of Ali-G and Borat...KALSTER wrote:Did you like Ali G, Borat and Bruno?

Re: The Movie Thread
So The Amazing Spider-Man was okay. It was certainly truer to the comics, and the villain was awesome. Gwen Stacy was likeable enough. And yet, somehow, and I don't know what it is exactly, it didn't grab me in the same way that the 2002 Spider-man film did. Not that it wasn't enjoyable, but I wasn't wowed quite like I was the first time round.

I dunno. Action-packed superhero movies still bring out the inner child. To be fair, it was more than "okay" and I really wanted it to be better than the previous iteration. Perhaps my expectations were just a little too high?
I missed the Daily Bugle. I missed the saving-public-citizens scenes. And even though I know that MJ was Spidey's third love interest in the comics, I still missed her.
That said, if the sequel features Goblin killing Gwen ...
