She seems like an attention seeker, nothing more.

Well, she's been getting attention that's for sure.

Interesting how aggressive people become when discussing her decision to go 'au naturel'.

A surprising amount of modern pseudoscience is coming out of the environmental sector. Perhaps it should not be so surprising given that environmentalism is political rather than scientific.

this.

the subtext appears to be "how dare she!?" - it's prevalent, entrenched and very disturbing. and it's not just the men. women are, if anything, slightly worse.

She has the right to do as she pleases, and everybody else has the right to their own opinion on the matter. Is she doesn't want criticism she shouldn't be parading around on TV talk shows...

There's a whole subset of the population who'd disagree with you. (no, not me)

Do you know why some of us shave under our arms? It prevents BO. That is the main reason. At my age aesthetics just doesn't feature - but hygiene does. Tee hee I wonder if underarm hair goes grey as one gets older?

Well, if all else fails - just do the totally unexpected and read the link provided in the OP?
Women have been plucking and tweezing for centuries. Removing underarm hair became common in 1915 in Britain, when flapper-fashions meant women started wearing sleeveless dresses.

But as early as the ancient Egyptians, a smooth and hairless body was seen as a sign of great beauty. They concocted a mixture of oil and honey to strip body hair, a forerunner of what we call ‘sugaring’ today.

As far back as 1096, the returning Crusaders brought the practice of women shaving their bodies back to Europe from Asia, and castles had a specially built room where the ladies of the court met to shave.

Back on topic though.

Which cultures' woman do NOT do the hair removal thing?
I once dated a Portuguese girl that didn't and according to her this was their thing. Never had any BO (thx Tribs) problems etc as far as I'm concerned.

Hee hee and she even has the same surname as you I believe.

Actually there are a lot worse out there - but I don't have the stomach to post them.
