Re: LRP being phased out and petrol price
Mmmm I wonder if we could confuse their systems. Register a few e-tag devices and swap them between gantries where there are no on or off ramps. They would then have random records that disappear as quickly as they appeared. Or two friends who share a car - swap tags and this way they can share the cost of the trip. Would horribly confuse their reports and billing info.

@ UberAdmin
Try doing your Yogi-mind trick when you have 4 different places to go...
@Tribble
How will that confuse their billing reports?

A surprising amount of modern pseudoscience is coming out of the environmental sector. Perhaps it should not be so surprising given that environmentalism is political rather than scientific.

Re: LRP being phased out and petrol price
Well they will have a chip captured at one gantry but not at the next. And that that gantry will be a chip that was not captured at the previous gantry. Must confuse the logic to some extent

Maybe if they start doing 'average speed' trapping. Hmmm, could work if they don't run it in tandem with numberplate recognition software.

I do not see how they can - as the cameras seem to point down and not sidewards

Re: LRP being phased out and petrol price
The e-toll does not work in the ay you seem to think Tribble... They charge you a fixed amount depending on the gantry you are going through. So if you get onto the highway just before a gantry and get off it right afterwards then you will still pay the full amount for the KM between the gantry you went through and the previous one on the road. Hence the whole system is unfair as they have no way of recording actually how far you traveled on the highway. A better way would have been if they had a gantry at each on and offramp and then by means of that calculate the distance traveled and bill accordingly. But noooo we are talking about a bunch of beurocrats that can't tell the difference between the horse or the cart.
