OFMThe cause of singer Whitney Houston's death is still unclear, but there were no signs of criminal intent. So says police spokesperson Mark Rosen after arriving at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, where the 48-year-old American singer and actress was found dead shortly before midnight last night. Houston had been staying as a guest at the hotel. Rosen says fire department personnel and members of hotel security were attempting to resuscitate her when police arrived at the scene, but their efforts were unsuccessful. Houston was one of the most celebrated female singers of all time, with hits including I Will Always Love You and Saving All My Love For You. But her later career was overshadowed by substance abuse and her turbulent marriage to singer Bobby Brown.

Re: R.I.P Whitney Houston
I liked her music.
She spiralled into a pretty deplorable human being at the end.
All in all I'd have to say..... meh.

Re: R.I.P Whitney Houston
One of the greatest vocalists of all time is dead. She had a touch time under Bobby Brown for more than a decade, came back with a sub-standard voice, but still sold millions, only to fall back to substance abuse near the end. I'm not all meh she's dead. I wasn't a fan, but she had something special once upon a time and it is a shame to see it end like this.

I honestly never fancied her voice that much. Thought she was a bit of a screamer myself.
Re: R.I.P Whitney Houston
well music is a subjective thing ..... as an example i liked whitneys music but i pretty much think that heavy metal is not music at all but a cacophony of noise but metal has lots of followers (still doesnt make it any less to being absolute nonsensical garbage in my books)Stuart wrote:I honestly never fancied her voice that much. @ naughty. I say the same thing about Whitney its just a cacophony of noise...
She did release a few great songs and her vocal talent was great and will be missed by some. R.I.P. Whitney. BTW Before I left for work this morning I saw a news article that her daughter had been rushed to hospital for a unspecified check-up.

some prefer whitney while others prefer heavy metal - just like some like AMD or others like intel and the arguments about nvidia vs AMD/ATI will go on forever
thing is to me an my ears whitney is more musical than (well i cant name any heavy metal bands cos i dont really listen to them .... not even to most rock either unless its just basic stuff .... so insert your favorite heavy metal/hardcore rock band here - i'd diss them all as much you diss whitney)

Re: R.I.P Whitney Houston
her choice in music aside, (horrible), she had an incredible voice...
i still don't see why we're being bombarded with fake empathy by the very people who've spent the last few years focusing on her crippling addictions like it was new cheese. i blame womankind. <sucker-for-punishment>
her one big plus is her songs > rap... but then rancid porridge>rap so that doesn't really scan...
