I see that Telkom won the "Worst Service" award on HelloPeter.
I received a call from my broken at StanLib several minutes ago. He says that my investment policy has remained static for several years, and that he would like to meet me to discuss it [i.e. he wants to make more money out of me]
Erm....I made the possible mistake of saying that he could visit me during my lunchbreak next week...
How do I handle this when he does arrive and try to sell me stuffs?

Re: English Spam Thread and General Rubbish
First off... I have never wiped my IMEI number from flashing ROM's. However I did find out this week that it is a common occurrence with the SGS, dont ask me why though.
@Fire have you taken a look at these guys: http://www.darkyrom.com/community/index.php?forum/ They only deal with Samsung released ROM's and I have been using them on my SGS2 for a long time now. They do some top quality ROMs...
@Star Regarding updates for the phone. Samsung does release them but only if their custom UI can fit into the ROM and if the build is stable. In the case of Fire's his phone lacks the internal memory necessary for the Touchwiz UI and the ICS build so Samsung is no longer supporting it. His phone did have a good run with a heck of a lot more updates than any other phone on the Market in the Android eco-system, so really he cant complain . Rooting allows for quite a few things from installing apps you would not have been able to do in normal mode to theming the phone to suit your style to flashing a custom ROM that will have a host of tweaks and updates that make it more stable and to monitor the system and influence it directly. I love having the ability to do all of these things hence the reason why I left Apple and came back to Android.

Re: English Spam Thread and General Rubbish
I would have thought that those manufacturers who use Android on their devices would have paid more attention to stability. You can't change themes in Android without rooting the device?
Why TouchWiz? Does Android not have its own UI?
So ICS is too bloated for Fire's phone?

Re: English Spam Thread and General Rubbish
Ouch sorry to hear that. Maybe it was a kernel issue? What went wrong?
@Star Samsung, HTC, Motorola, ASUS and a few others all believe their UI is better and in some cases it is. I dont know about ICS yet but the Gingerbread, Froyo and Eclair builds lacked predictive dialing whereas the UI built by Samsung and HTC had that feature. I would not say ICS is bloated it is more refined the bloat comes in when Samsung & HTC add their UI, widgets, apps and themes are the bloat. I bet you right now there will be a working ICS build for Fire's phone in the coming months that will work just fine but Sammy wont do it because it will just be another droid not a Samsung droid. As for themes well you might be able to change a few things without root but with root you can change a whole lot more.

"Integrity" and "integer" both contain a Latin root meaning "whole; complete." The root sense, then, is that people may be said to be acting with integrity when their beliefs, words, and actions have a sense of unity or wholeness.
