Math Problem!

Post by Friar Tuck »

Here is a math problem which I had a midnight crisis about.
IF
5+3+2 = 151022

9+2+4 = 183652

8+6+3 = 482466

5+4+5 = 202541

7+2+5 =
Spoiler (show)
144547
(Ron2k Provided A solution)

Think I see what the pattern is:

For (a + b + c):

The first two digits of the solution is the result of (a*b). Let this result be x.
The second two digits of the solution is the result of (a * c). Let this result be y.
The final two digits of the solution is the result of (x + y - b).

Based on that, your solution for 7+2+5 should be 143547.

Rather create new threads for new topics - otherwise it just confuses everyone else.

Tell you what - try and restore the original post for this thread, then create a new one for the vacation stuff. That would probably work best.

And also, it means that I can sleep easier knowing that I won't wake up to a private message inbox overflowing with "OMGWTFHAX" messages from confused forumites, or be woken up prematurely by even more confused phone calls from Anakha56. (Yes, this has happened before.)

Okay Restoring old thread.

That is the last thing I would want to happen.

What requirements are for your holiday? Beach or mountains? Beach will probably be better and I would suggest Ballito...

I ran into another one:
If
5+3+2 = 13071015
9+2+4 = 14343336
8+6+2 = 46104048
Then
7+2+5 =

ok.

a + b + c = w x y z
(w, x, y & z are all 2 digit numbers)

w = (a) (b) - c
x = (a) (c) - b
y = x + x - (a + b + c)
z = [(a) (b) (c)]/2

Therefore:
7+2+5 = 09130835

That is the correct solution. Very Good

Tribs, just look at it like this:

f(a+b+c) (meaning that a+b+c goes through a procedure that gives those weird answers)

That makes more sense Monty.

I was able to answer the first set easily - but this second gave me a modicum of trouble. I got the w, x, y but the z really confused me. Well done.

Then
