Friends, Saffas, countrymen, lend me your ears.
OK, so anyway I have to start looking very hard at where I will be in a few years once my visa is up and if I have the passport or not. So I need info and opinions on SA. As you are all in SA you are able to give me a better viewpoint on SA both the good and the bad so that I can make a better decision. So would it be better for me to returns to SA in a few years or will SA have followed the path of so many other African states and fallen apart?

I don't believe SA will go the way of all the other African countries, but then I am an optimist. I am staying here. No plans to leave.

I think if your visa runs out with no passport, then of course you will need to come back.
Are there other places around the world you can base from?
