Livid sadness...
Get home today, see my wife doing cupboards, as in a total unpack, chuck out, repack exercise...
So I see my pc boxes as in the containers for each pc component are missing...
She threw them all in the wheely bin and its been cleaned out.
All my original packaging, and sales slips and warranty papers. Gone.
Her excuse? It was just sitting there taking space.

Ouch!
My SO knows not to touch anything PC related without asking me first.
Sorry to hear about that Soj, be strong...

Oh well.. moving on.
Just hoping no component decides to die now.
I'll probably also loose out on resell value.
Not such a biggy.
(I keep telling myself that.)

Damn, that sucks. Should you not have told her though?

One would also think that anything PC related to your SO you would not just chuck without asking first.
But hey live and learn, live and learn...

You should not let her clean - period. She is a dangerous woman. Wanna send her my way - have some areas that need cleaning.

Dude, don't mean to upset you more but I've been married 10 years and I can tell you it never gets any better. Only solution is that I have my cupboard that's out of sight so it can look like whatever I want it to and she understands what's junk to her is important to me. It's come to a point that she won't even spring clean my cupboard / toolboxes. She'll treat me like a kid until I do it myself.Sojourn wrote:Kal, I believe I did.

Jamin, i was waiting for a comment like that. But you might have a point. No one messes with a man's PC and gets away with it. We don't touch their make up, they don't touch our PCs. Nuf said

Re: Livid sadness...
you need a study or office.
My aunt has this obsession with throwing away boxes. My uncle bought a laptop, the next morning I see the box out with the trash. I gave a long stern lecture.... the box got binned two weeks later by the domestic. sigh.

What I type has nothing to do with the people that employ me.

I am sure Jam took part in open (no pun) beta testing - with original packaging.
Re: Livid sadness...
I just went home for lunch to find that my wife had rearranged the lounge. She asked me last night if I thought she should. I said no. She did anyway. (Her reasoning is that we haven't been on holiday for so long she just wanted a change. Does that make sense to anyone?)
Anywho, she evidently "didn't know" that you have to unclip the wires at the bottom of the surround sound speakers before you pull them out. You can fill in the blanks.
She pushed the TV stand and busted the back left leg. (Of the TV stand. Not her back leg. Not that she has back legs. Those are dogs.)
She also somehow managed to rip the HDMI cable out of the HTPC so violently that it left part of the cable in the computer.
Oops.

Dude, that sucks. But for some reason, kind of endearing?
