The master would disagree - he is in love with his Toyota. Don't think he would ever want a Merc

Re: Your wheels (pics)
But the merc just has that prestige, and will outlast any Toyota. It has almost 300 000 on the clock and it still looks good and runs perfectly(refer back to the pic to see the proof), it still has the original clutch and shock absorbers , that is why I will never buy anything other than a merc.

Your car has a cassette player, for crying out loud!
Stiggy, don't forget that some of us have to finance our cars ourselves. Also, regardless of prestige or anything else, I simply will not trust anything with 300,000 km on the clock - probable maintenance costs would also be an issue for me. Sometimes, it helps to lose the fanboyism and see the objectivity.

Re: Your wheels (pics)
Yea the Cassette player is a bit of an issue, but it has 6 speaker surround sound......and I can always buy a CD shuttle as the radio is compatible with them. The 300 000km's is the reason why I have the car, my dad could only get 30 000 for it so he gave up trying to sell it. But still for a car with 300 000 it still feels brand new, not a singe squeak or rattle and everything still works and the engine makes almost no sound at all with no sign of smoke. Besides the out of date radio it has many things some new cars don't have, ASR traction control, ABS, BAS breaking assist, height adjustable headlights......... and obviously I am not the sort of person who modifies cars so I will leave the car just as it is.
I will admit that there is one rather big problem, current maintenance costs are relatively low consisting of just general service...., but one day something expensive will go wrong and if for instance the computer dies then you scrap it but something that will need to be done in the not too distant future is a complete overhaul of the head which on the 1.8 l engine should be done at around 350 000 but it should not be too bad, I hope

Re: Your wheels (pics)
My dad works for Mercedes Benz, so he drives a new car about once a week. I just got my learners a few weeks ago and sofar I've had the privilege of driving some of his company cars.
He usually drives around with one of those new 1.6l C180's, and I was blown away, that a 1.6l can drive like THAT!
But then, one day, he arrived with one of these. a 5.5l V8 CLK500! I felt like the car was busy trying to push me right through the seat. It just continues accelerating from 0 - 200+ at a single, mind blowing pace. It was one of the most exciting feelings I have ever experienced.
If a CLK500 does that to you, I can just Imagine the thrill of driving a Lambo, or an SLS or something.
(Warning: Big picture)a random CLK500

Re: Your wheels (pics)
You lucky......, all I have is a 12 year old C180(had a 1.8l producing 130Bhp back then) classic with almost 300 000 on the clock. BTW could you please ask your dad what sort of mileage I can expect to get from my car before it needs a almost completely new engine.

-------> can we get back to what this thread was meant for now. I think I should start a thread called "spam about you wheels", I think it would be quite popular
Re: Your wheels (pics)
But it's the prototype. The inspiration. The little brother. It is to the Prius what Arnie is to Kristanna Loken.Ron2K wrote:MY CAR IS NOT A PRIUS!KatrynKat wrote:is that a blue Prius?? i can't see....

It's way easier to keep clean. My previous Audi was dark grey and it looked dirty one day after a wash, but with silver it lasts about a week or two before you notice it.Tribble wrote:Silver is not cool - there are thousands of silver cars on the road. Re: Your wheels (pics)
Well yes, the S3 is more understated ( and lets face it, tasteful), but the RS3 does 0-100 in 4.6 seconds.
Thats Gallardo territory, in a 4 door saloon. Wrap your mind around that...

S3. I wish I could afford an RS3...GreyWolf wrote:Ryan, S3? or RS3?
A friend up in PTA has one on order. Trading in his B8 S4 (which is also an awesome car), so will at least get to drive in one!
