Re: Latest Purchases Thread
nice car there RyanRich- hope you enjoy it
in terms of my latest purchases .... well i landed up in a huge cash crisis (its a long story) so i had to land up selling most of my audio equipment and consolidating everything into one decent system instead of having two decent systems
i have been a fan of Dali speakers but i could never afford the Ikon series stuff until the local distributors decided that they dont want to stock these speakers anymore hence they decided to reduce their inventory levels ..... result in my favor was that i could all of a sudden get these at below half price
so just see what landed up at my doorstep - remember that this is all stuff that would cost around R40k at retail level and i got it for under R20k - in fact after selling all my other stuff i just had to add in around R3k more to get a huge upgrade - how this helps my cash-flow problems is debatable but right now i just have to pay for the electricity on one system instead of two huge ones so it does help in the monthly expenditure substantially
![Image](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v167/naughty001/ikons/boxes.jpg)
these are the ikon 7's
![Image](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v167/naughty001/ikons/rightspeaker.jpg)
complemented by the ikon vokal 2 centre channel to make a coherent front stage
![Image](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v167/naughty001/ikons/ikoncentre.jpg)
and the ikon 2's for rears - im using these in place of the bedroom setup just to run them in for now - will get something a lot cheaper for there later - but im i the process of building some speaker stands for these before they migrate to the lounge
![Image](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v167/naughty001/ikons/ikon2.jpg)
considering the original retail price of these i would never have been able to afford these in this lifetime if that price had remained as it was but as it stands i got these for a huge bargain so it was well worth the upgrade - sad bit is that now my amplification will soon also have to be upgraded but i will have to wait for my cash crisis to be over before i look at that aspect and i will need to also replace the Acoustic research sub which is not at the same quality level as these speakers (and sadly it shows when you listen to them)

Told the cable for the gears in my car went snap.
Still have a few gifts to pick up tomorrow - it is going to be a horrendous day. Hope the shops in Fourways aren't too busy.
