Diesel is definitely better for a farm.

I will overlook this and conceded that, as a female, you may like the Getz.
I personally prefer this form of diesel.

Re: Ron2K Appreciation Day
For the love of all that is holy, don't. You change gears in a diesel and it drops down to 55 revs and you have to get it back up to 5000 again... If you ever see 5000.
And a Getz is a horrible car. I've been in one. It's cramped and has absolutely no power. It'll take you 30 minutes to see 100km/h in a Getz and a DIESEL Getz at that...

Not the Merc. A person her age can't afford the servicing and maintenance for a car like that.THE_STIG wrote:Rather get a second hand Mercedes A-class or Opel Astra (not the deisel please).KatrynKat wrote:@Stig: i don't own it yet... its what i wanna get..
I disagree. My brother has the 1.6 Getz and it's a nice car. Not great, not amazing, but certainly not bad.Bladerunner wrote:For the love of all that is holy, don't. You change gears in a diesel and it drops down to 55 revs and you have to get it back up to 5000 again... If you ever see 5000.

It is a tad small, but then it's a small car so that's to be expected.

Re: Ron2K Appreciation Day
It's not a "tad" small. It's tiny! It basically has no trunk either. Unless you buy nothing more than one loaf of bread at a time. It has no rear legroom. It just doesn't. You can't fit anything other than a parrot on the backseat.UrBaN wrote: I disagree. My brother has the 1.6 Getz and it's a nice car. Not great, not amazing, but certainly not bad.

Re: Ron2K Appreciation Day
Nah, that's not true. The boot is small, granted, but it's usable. Unless you have a sub or something in there.
The backseats are fine too. Sure, if you're tall it's going to be a problem, but I haven't seen any average humans have a problem with it.
Why so much angst? Did a Getz beat you in a race or something?

Re: Ron2K Appreciation Day
I agree with bladerunner a Getz is a horid thing (most Hyundai's are) it is not very ergonomical especialy in the foot pedal area, they are just to close together.
It is not fast but at least not as slow as an Atoz which needs special measuring equipment to determine if it is moving at all.

Whilst Korean cars have previously been known to be fairly ****, I don't think that is still a far assessment. The new Hyundais and Kias are actually very nice cars. They also offer and outstanding warranty 5yr/150000km - which other manufacturer does that?Bladerunner wrote:You can't deny the non-existent rear-legroom?UrBaN wrote: Why so much angst? If you're looking for something along the lines of a workhorse, with a decent interior, I'd suggest this: (I'm probably going to buy one of these next year, and if you want to spoil it, you can get a diesel version of it!)

You're one of very few people I've met who like Hyundais. They're nice if you're not willing to spend more than R80k (I am aware they cost more than this. See what I've done there? I think they're overpriced.) yes. But you get what you pay for.UrBaN wrote: Whilst Korean cars have previously been known to be fairly ****, I don't think that is still a far assessment.
