What to study?

Post by Synthesis »

Ok, so it's become standard from next year that every employee has to study and get some decent certification behind their name. I've been suggested to carry on with I.T. because even though it's not really part of my field, we have too many clients requesting a full package from one supplier, namely my company.

I'll need to be able to venture into the deepest darkest Africa and install a full I.T. infrastructure from scratch. My requirements will thus be to install and setup servers, users, domains, networking, SQL management, redundancy options and configurations and so on.
I have above average knowledge and experience on networking, PC helpdesk and technician support so I need to specifically go into server 2008. That's all I'm lacking.

The problem I have is that we'll be implementing server 2008 from next year. I don't know of studies here to support 2008. MCSE is server 2003. I've seen something called "MCITP" is this available now and what I should go for or are their more specialist studies for server 2008?

Advice or suggestions?
