That last action where he cleaned out the account... seriously.
I would get my own back, if you cannot get the actual money out of him, arrange a hit-and-run on his car where the damage will be equal or greater than the amount he stole from you. Justice has many faces.

/flashback 1989
Boarding school, some rivalry-gone-bad with another scholar. The guy took an extremely sharp pen-knife and punched it into a book I bought with hard saved money. Guy was much bigger than me... I then found out about this new radio/tape boombox type player he got. Buddy and myself then proceeded to break into his room, opened up the player and indiscriminately cut wires and stuffing up the double-tape mechanism. I am proud of that day.

I think he will learn. One of he's vehicles was written off last week by an employee. I also kept good relations with the secretaries who gave me tid bits of information about his business, apparently he is in serious debt. Massive lists of un-paid bills. He is about 45 years old and is in a relationship with a 19 year old. Very messed up. I wish I knew all this before I got involved. :(

I am pretty sure his lesson will be learnt without any interference.

Every time misfortune strikes his business, send him a mail profusely lamenting how sorry you are about his bad luck. Then end the mail with a comment like "What goes around..." - Or better yet, phone him and tell him. :P

A surprising amount of modern pseudoscience is coming out of the environmental sector. Perhaps it should not be so surprising given that environmentalism is political rather than scientific.

Doo it would have been better to hire a hitman from the joint account and stage it as an elaborate suicide so his family could still get his life insurence
