Ok - a whole day has passed and I revisited this post again. I am still clueless. Perhaps I am too naive - or just don't want to see it. You will have to spell it out Skwirrel - this old lady doesn't get your subtle humour.
The way you feel when you are in love tends to calm down a lot over the years. You no longer get excited in the same way. So you transfer that excitement to safe objects like games and books. People like to feel - and the stronger the feeling (good feelings) the more you miss them when they aren't around.
If you don't have those feelings in your life - your life loses passion. And it is sad when that happens.
Yes - it probably is. I am in favour of controlling emotions. Unless you have an acceptable outlet for them - it would be best not to have them. There is a fine line between controlling and pushing down - be careful. The one has a tendency to explode
If you have never experienced passion - you will have no idea what you are missing. If you don't think you could experience it safely, then you are safer not feeling it.
Better not to have emotions? Are you insane woman?
How, then, would you ever feel productive? How would you have any desire to do anything, to achieve, to pursue, to accomplish, if there were no emotion to be felt?
You'd be a mindless, soulless unfeeling thing. You wouldn't even be apathetic, which is itself an emotion, you would simply be nothing.
I never said no emotions - we are talking extreme emotions. We are talking love, infatuation, sexual passion. I feel way too much - they need to be controlled

If there is one thing that has characterised my life, it is the need to keep control of myself.
