Your First Rig?

Well, i dont know if this has been done yet, but this is all about your first Rig.
 I struggle hard to remenber my first rig, can any of u guys remember yours...
 
 My 1st Rig:
 486DX "some text deleted"
 800MB HDD
 16MB Ram (That was alot)
 Win 95 (Load on by me & my dad with 16 Stiffy disks, we had fun, NOT <IMG SRC="images/forum/smilies/icon_razz.gif"> )
 No CD-Rom(No CD-RW either)
 No Graphics Card (Wots an AGP? <IMG SRC="images/forum/smilies/icon_confused.gif"> )
 Only Games i´d play was PC Pacman + Solitaire

Hehe if it was a 486DX it wasn´t a pentium, the 486 was the predesessor of the Pentium.
 
 Anyway my first PC was a 486DX 100Mhz with 32MB Ram and a 800Mb Hard drive, plus a 2MB display card.

 286, 1/2 MB Ram, 10MB Hdd, Dos 4.33 MonoChrom Screen
 Fav game prince of persia!
 Stealth 1942
 F1 Fighter.
 WHats windows? I was the only one with a PC. Until a buddy of mine got a 486 I hated his family!
 
 Followed by a 100Mhz Pentium.
 16MB Ram, 2.1Gb(BTW still have it today in working order) and HDD and 200Mb, 4x CD ROM
 Windows 95Plus
 
 Next
 Intel Pentium II 300Mhz
 128MB Ram, 20Gig HDD, Aopen 4MB AGP 2x(upgraded 3DFX Voodoo 3 3000 16MB @ R1600) CD rom 32x
 
 Next
 Duron 1000Mhz, 320MB ram, Voodoo 3 3000(Upgrade to ASUS nForce with 256MB DDR @ 266 & GeForce 2 MX 200), 20Gb HDD and CD rom.

Well I thought we were talking about PC´s that belonged to us, but if not then the earliest PC we had ( it belonged to my father ) was an old 286 laptop with a green display (yuck), 512kb RAM and I think it had a 10Mb hard drive if it was even that big...
 
 I used to play Kings Quest, Police Quest and Friendly ware on it all the time!

 XT (8086)
 640 K Ram
 20 MB HDD (Thats right, 20 Megabytes)
 360 K FDD
 Amber Monitor (Orange on Black)
 MSDOS 3.0 (No Windows Back then)
 We played games like Tetris, Pac man, Space invaders, and Monty (Montezuma´s revenge), Which was my favorite at the time.
 
 Don´t forget the 8 pin Dot matrix printer!
 
 This "Rig", If it qualifies as one, cost my dad R8000 in 1987

Oh Yes only1, Are you sure about 512 K RAM? Didn´t all PC´s have 640 K? <IMG SRC="images/forum/smilies/icon_confused.gif">

Man, Those were the good old days! Never Having to worry about if a game will run or not, All the games that were available worked, and upgrading wasn´t even invented yet. <IMG SRC="images/forum/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif">
 
 And Don´t forget that we didn´t have any trouble with windows, because we worked in MSDOS!!!

Does a spectrum count as a pc? You know, the one where you had to put a tape casette into the player, and then you type on the keyboard at the command prompt. Games like Manic miner, jet set willy, etc.
 
 Anyone remember California games, Winter games, and all those other great titles that used to keep you glued to the screen. Wish they would bring out something like that again with updated graphics of course, but still the same easy gameplay

i can remember those " Winter Games, California Games". i used 2 play it on a 8-bit TV Game" Golden China".
 But b4 that even b4 my PC, i had an ATARI, overlayed with OAK. only game i played was tennis(or table tennis) - black screen, 2 paddels, a line and a ball.

 Talking about games like that, Retro gaming(You know, old games that are redone with new tech, like DXBall, a remake of the classic Brake out) is coming in big lately. I´m thinking of starting a project like that. Don´t know what tipe of game yet but it will be All DirectX. anyone interested in helping?(Especially Graphics wise). I´m a programmer but I can´t draw a straight line.

My first computer was a black and white job which I got when I was 2 years old!
 Next I got a 486 with a soundcard and state of the art CD Rom drive! I remember playing Deathtrack , Jazz Jackrabbit , Heretic and Megarace.
 After that I got a PIII 600 Mhz , SB Live , TNT 2 16MB ,
 My current rig is a AMD Athlon XP 2000+
 Radeon 128 MB DDR
 384 MB DDR

 it was a blindingly fast amd 486-dx2 running at (gasp) 80 MHZ
 with a 2mb 2d graphics card name started with a "t"...hmm
 8 mb of ram
 windows 3.1 (oh yeah <IMG SRC="images/forum/smilies/icon_lol.gif"> )
 a 14" monitor(still working)
 no cdrom...(cdrom what the heck is that? <IMG SRC="images/forum/smilies/icon_razz.gif"> )
 800mb hard drive

 zigali harddrive
 zigali cdrom
 zigali soundcard
 zigali mouse (only got one of those a few month later)

 ama epson dotmatrix
 
 but had a joystick, so games where played on this monster machine

, My first Rig was a 200Mhz pentium mmx, Asus sp97V, 64mb EDO memory, 4.3GB HDD, ATI 3DRage 2+, creative sound blaster awe 32, win 95. I still have this rig around here somewhere.

MY first IBM compatible:

133Mhz Pentium, 8Mb RAM, Gigabyte 586ATV motherboard, ESS 1868 Audiodrive sound card, Trident TGUI 9440 1Mb graphics card,
1Gb Seagate Medallist hard drive, 4 speed Creative CD ROM drive, 14 inch Mecer monitor and a terrible set of speakers.
With the assistance who actually knew something about PCs [he now has a PhD] I bought this machine with the R6000-odd
left to me by my grandmother.
For the first 8 months, I hardly touched it at all.

My First Rig was a 2.4Ghz P4 with 40Gig Seagate HDD 512mb DDR 266 and some random MB with built in Video/Lan/Audio. Certainly a far cry from my current rig in my sig.

Hercules display adapter
Epson dot matrix printer

Played space quest 1 and 2, tetris, California games.
