CCTV Footage: Northgate Mall Robbery
erm, not quite "chillout ... relax" stuff, but where else would it fit?
i like the way everyone just carries on shopping even though men in balaclavas with handguns walk right past them.

Gee. That was pretty surreal to watch. You'd think people would notice the guns more quickly!

Re: CCTV Footage: Northgate Mall Robbery
i think it may be the same shop, but obviously not the same event. you can tell from the absence of a bakkie.

Re: CCTV Footage: Northgate Mall Robbery
evidently the police have asked the members of the seat-sport forums for help with this. they've asked them to send the police an sms if they see that car driving around the northern suburbs of jhb, because it's apparently been involved in a few other robberies too.R3D wrote:Did anyone els notice the nice car they were driving

Re: CCTV Footage: Northgate Mall Robbery
seeing as no one else has posted it (yet they have referred to it), if you see the car driving around, please sms 0834420951 with the where abouts of the vehicle. the number is the cell number of the guy who's heading up the whole investigation and he says he's available 24/7 should you alert him.
Please save it into your phone or write it down and let him know if you happen to see the car

Re: CCTV Footage: Northgate Mall Robbery
Indeed. One would think they would want everyone to see the plates in order to help find the car.

I don't think the person who's number plate that ACTUALLY is would appreciate it.SykomantiS wrote:Indeed. One would think they would want everyone to see the plates in order to help find the car.

Re: CCTV Footage: Northgate Mall Robbery
Why? It's not like it's on his car, and the authorities probably know it's stolen plates, so they way I see it, it can only aid in visually identifying the car. Unless I'm missing something.
Re: CCTV Footage: Northgate Mall Robbery
i don't think they are allowed to leave it unblanked by law.

Re: CCTV Footage: Northgate Mall Robbery
this
they blank them out because
1. they know that the plates will not help as the guys have most probably ditched them already (I would have anyway)
2. the law
3. saving the actual owner of the plates his dignity.
Link to actual thread on seat forums, playza is one of the coppers trying to catch these guys (its his cell number thats mentioned)

Re: CCTV Footage: Northgate Mall Robbery
Ja...kinda with SykomantiS on thinking there. Guess I can understand the logic of legit owners privacy...but still, plates would help in catching if they not ditched already. Hope they find these f#ckers

Re: CCTV Footage: Northgate Mall Robbery
Actually, the only logical thing for me would be because the law says so. But we are in agreement, hope they find the perps.
