Your cat makes a great subject - so does the bee.
Re: Photography - (max 640px X 480px allowed!)
wait what? If you WANT to learn you are going to learn no matter what your kit consists of. The only thing film will do is make you scared to actually take a picture. The last thing I want to worry about when I take a picture is how much one will cost.Tribble wrote:Film photography forces you to learn faster and to think your shots. I was told this by teachers of photography - guess they are old school but I feel that the cost forces you to look. It is possible to do that with digital but requires more dedication. Also a lot of photographers feel they can edit the pic afterwards. A great photographer can get the results he wants directly from the camera - no software needed.capanno wrote:wait what? Couldnt agree more with Kat on this one....a great photo only needs the minor cropping and touch up. Imagine the pro's that use film,

Yep - all the best learnt on film. When I first got my digital - I shot hundreds. At least 5 of the same shot - just to be sure I would have something that looked good. Now I try and make it in two shots. And I did start on film (but then I was never great - just weird).

Yea definitely the best photographers are those that all started on film, kinda like the base of photography.
Now with digital as much as its awesome, we have it alot easier, its like a comparison to the time i was in school with the Good old educational system in place and now today with its lame OBE system ,,,, not that Film is lame, i wait for the time i try it out.

Re: Photography - (max 640px X 480px allowed!)
I fully agree. With digital a person who is not determined to get the best shot can just put the camera into action mode and span 100 shots in 2 minutes, I refuse to use speed unless I want to get a shot of a car going by or a bird in flight.
I always find that taking a photo is like shooting a rifle. Breath in, breath out, hold, think, then shoot. if you think of the photo as a bullet, and you think of the idea that if you miss there will never be an opportunity like that again then you start to think carefully before you shoot.

What I type has nothing to do with the people that employ me.

@ Mod Doc: the one pic with the boats is brilliant. Well done.
Lee Mercer (Angel): This is getting ridiculous. The first assassin kills the second assassin sent to kill the first assassin, who didnt assassinate anyone until we hired the second assassin to assassinate her.
