Other thread?
the one about which car you drive where you said this
I RODE a CityGolf. Written off now.
well thankfully you are okay - but be careful of that whiplash stuff - it can recur every winter

sorry to hear about the accident though - and hopefully the insurance will sort it out - problem is that your new premiums are going to go sky high for the new car you get - also hope you can recover the sound stuff - thats some expensive stuff there

Luckily it can be recovered. Just hope they remember the crossovers. Asked them to take it out a couple of times so yea.

Oh well, accidents happen. At least i'll have a safer car.

okay, so I have had my sound in my car for the last couple of months.

My back board speakers are the original 6" Co-axials that I bought

http://www.autostyle.co.za/prodview.php ... dstr=&str=

They are too weak (only 30w RMS) and I need speakers with clarity at high volumes.

They will be running of an amp.

Any suggestions?

6X9's or Limpids :?:

They have to be 6" speakers?

If so, JBL make pretty decent splits, have a look at their range.

But you should ideally look into getting bigger speakers if you want them to handle more power.

well I don't exactly want to have to cut my back board, but if I do then I won't go bigger than 8".

I don't want 6x9's. Limpids are the word.

Splits are for my doors, I already have.

You again

Limpids can be pricey dude ... but each to his own.

Did you ever sort out the front left channel?

Yes I did, but I have to replace the splits since the left mid blew.

If you want something that can handle high volume levels I have a set of Rockford Fosgate 5.25" Co-axials that should work pretty well.

My advice.

Since its an uno (No offence) Why spend money on too much sound?
As far as clarity goes why ?, pop in sum Pioneers Sony or even calibra's

Sounds good enough.

Since you are moving to PTA, PTA Montana traders is your answer.

They also give warranty on HU's but not on speakers.
There is lots to choose from and they are grey not fake. and cheap.

get 2 12" subs, in a dual box or even band pass box with a some tweeters and 4 6" inch if your budget allows you. or 2 and 2 6x9's

and a thickish power cable.

And you are set. Uno's are easy to steal remember that.

rather spend money on clarity & perfection when you can afford the car you really want.

People flame me all you like

6x9s and subs in a hatch is stupid. you don't need them if you have subs..

get 2 subs, 400w
6" co-axials for the backdoors
6" splits for the front

1x 1000w amp minimum.. add a monoblock later

the perfect setup for a hatch dude. if you have more cake at your disposal get better spec subs

buy ROCKFORD or die!!!

Id rather die than buy Rockford again

Corsa Lite = 2 door hatch

Ideal spec is 6.5" split system up front with a single 10 or 12 depending on what results you want.

Im not talking about installing a full SQ system here but rather something that is loud and clear.

For KB's budget we are looking at the Boschmann splits running of his existing amp.
