So now the forums have morphed into a dating agency. That's an interesting idea to attract more people here Tribs.

I wonder if it would work.... and yes she uses she so I use she :D She was quiet for a while - then spouted stuff about aliens but seems to be back to normal again :D

Then again - I have another friend that is obsessed with aliens now ..... but he is married so it wouldn't work.

Naah I am not the matchmaking kind. If you want a complicated life - do that yourself people :D

Some one had to bring up Zana didn't they. This forum has seen so much happen, so many tears, smiles, laughs and fights. I joined this forum 10 years ago and I have seen a lot over that time. Some truly awesome people have come and gone but their words remain here for the new comers to read and learn from.

I hope this forum is here in another 10 years time and we all visit while our kids sit on our laps and wonder why Daddy or Mommy isn't using Google Glass to browse this ancient site.

As to what is killing this forums... I think many members just got very busy. In one way we were all early adopters of the internet and as such we have grown resistant to its charm and aren't addicted to it so much. I personally find most of my time being invested in Reddit and selected subreddits. Even other SA forums have lost their appeal except the the FML threads (always makes for interesting reading). But I will always come back here, either to check the Cover Disc thread or to see if there are any hardware issues that I can help with.
What I type has nothing to do with the people that employ me.

I shall touch base again :D But methinks you need someone on the same planet if not the same continent. Naah I jest. But you do need someone closer to where you live.

East London. Hey - I know cats are cute - but come on. You would not be able to handle the moaning and condescending glares. Naah EL may have a better - saner- choice

I have to hear cat moan, nor muster sufficient control over its facial muscles to affect condescension. If you're lucky, i might be mived to post my profile text. Not in this thread though: i have gone o.t. as it is.

It's actually the other way around, as I've yet to bring her a shrubbery. (The problem that I'm having is that even shrubbers are under considerable economic stress at this period of history.)

I can't believe I spent 5 minutes scanning this drivel...

Anyways. Point is PCF/GEAR has no interesting topics, no reason for people to frequent these forums anymore. Like any good product, you need a selling point. This forum doesn't have that anymore.

It's degenerated into a clique. And quite a boring one at that. I'm pretty sure its been over a year since I last posted anything other than spam here.

if nab and killerbyte would actually put more interest into this over that crummy facebook corner. and into an actual forum things would turn around. SELL YOUR IT/MAGAZINE KNOWLEDGE on this platform over the current social media platforms.

It's not just us that have grown, changed and moved on - Rich Stanton over at Eurogamer has too.
I was there for them though and I'm sure you were too, day one for Xbox and day one for 360. Good times. And over that decade I've matured, like all of the gaming audience, in ways that Microsoft doesn't recognise and cannot serve. It's sad saying goodbye to anything, nevermind a companion you've outgrown. Things are always easier when they're black and white though. Xbox? Off.
I'm not sure if I feel encouraged or not to know that other people also appear to be growing out of gaming, growing out of the same tired, rehashed stuff with different paint on. :-/

Maybe you should try some indie titles, or move away from the genres you're most used to. Worked for me.

I have, and the problem with the second part of your sentence is that I've been gaming for the past 24 years. I can't think of a genre that I haven't, at the very least, dabbled in.

Maybe I've just been feeling grumpy of late.

Oh, and also:
Worked for me.
