It's currently in development. The release date is of course another story.

Black Mesa

Why wait for a remake when we can just wait for the sequel? ;)

For those who are interested in a Half-Life remake but were left utterly disappointed by Half-Life: Source well, there is some good news and some bad news.

The good news is that a remake is being made using the Source engine to its full capacity, and possibly even using the updated engine seen in Half-Life 2: Episode 2.

The screenshots look amazing and there is even a teaser trailer available for download. The trailer, which includes flybys of the Test Chamber, Blast Pit, Residue Processing, Lambda Core, and Surface Tension dam areas is amazing. The amount of work the Black Mesa Team has done to recreate Half-Life is astonishing, there is just so much attention to detail; the architecture seen in the trailer is breathtaking to say the least! :D

The bad news is that this remake has been in development for ages, and when I say ages think DNF! :(

Check out Black Mesa for more info.
