PSVita

Post by StarBound »

PS Vita, sounds like wife beata, eats a pro-vita, doesn't sound neata... ect.

So with Japan suffering abysmal sales the wonder from sony that is suppose to be a portable ps3 is coming to Europe and presumably SA on 22 February this year.

The 3G model will go for around R3300, a good deal more than a PS3 or Xbox combo, while the wifi only version will hit for around R2700 which is a good deal cheaper yet still costs an arm. Mandatory to your purchase but not included is your storage unite (aka psv flash memory chip) which unless you like to only play arcade games and save nothing is needed to perform any kind of save action. The 32gb will go for around R900-R1000.

Gaming is expensive.

So what to do? The launch lineup looks better than that of the 3DS but what games would interest you into forking out this kind of cash on a system with a 5" screen? (swear I read 6" somewhere) Is anyone gonna pick it up at launch? Are you gonna wait till the system drops in price and gets a free memory card? Is it anything other than a hood ornament that replaces that merc symbol at the front of your car?

I'm going to give this one a miss no matter how good the software is-it isn't as though I don't have enough to keep me occupied, and I'm still quite taken with my 3DS.

I had a PSP at one stage, but found that I preferred playing games on the Nintendo DS, and so sold my PSP.

Will definitely give it a skip, but I love the idea of the touch pad on the back. Wonder how long it will take for something similar to appear on the back of cellphones?

I won't care about it until there are exclusive games I want to play available for it, so for now, no thanks. That touch pad is going to be GREAT for shooters, though.

If you get CoD on the go then it will be awesome I guess. But it uses flash memory cards for storage so it will be majorly expensive.

F.y.i.

Animeworx is running a special on PS Vita.
R1699 gets you the WiFi edition and a copy of Modnation Racers.

I thought you were focusing on getting a decent PC up and running. What happened to that "I wont buy a PS4"?

Oh I see that part of me saying CoD on the go would be nice, let me correct it before someone nails me for it. CoD on Vita sucks. Stay away from it. Fair warning.
