Right so as we all know the PS3 was left naked when its root key was exposed on the Interwebz and guess what? The lawsuit against Hotz and Co has heated up...

Sony v. Geohot litigation heats up, SCEA demands YouTube give up Hotz and Fail0verflow's personal info
By Michael Gorman posted Feb 8th 2011 3:56PM

Now that Sony has started gathering the evidence it needs via discovery in the lawsuit over Hotz and friends' PS3 jailbreak, the company has dropped a hammer by moving to reduce the amount of time the hackers have to get Sony the information it wants. Sony filed the motion -- which will be heard by the court tomorrow -- to better arm itself with information to oppose Geohot's motion to dismiss, scheduled to be heard in early March. Casting its evidence-gathering net far and wide, SCEA has demanded that YouTube surrender not only information for Hotz's account where his jailbreak video was posted, but also how many users accessed the video, the usernames of those with access to the video, and all usernames and IP addresses of everyone who posted or published comments to the vid. In addition to hitting up YouTube for dirt, Wired reports that Sony has demanded Twitter hand over the personal info of fail0verflow's members -- we're waiting for Sony's lawyers to don TSA gear as the next step in their search. Geohot's attorney thinks the requests seem a bit much, but we think they make sense given Sony's strategy of going after the entire fail0verflow team. While these goings-on make for fairly standard legal tactics, they won't do much for Sony's public image.
 The key is out and Sony is trying to sue everyone connected with it. Sorry Sony but you cannot get out of this hole...

Between the standard action shooter games that are flooding the market I like these once in a while different titles. Btw have you seen the Catherine trailers? Or are you avoiding that title?

I miss the days when games looked different. Like Unreal and Quake played along the same line but both games looked different from each other. These days all games look like some kind of CoD clone.

Running a custom firmware? Go back to original or face dire consequences...
Sony throws down: crack your PS3, get banned
By Ben Kuchera | Last updated 20 minutes ago

Sony is fighting what may be a long, ugly legal battle to remove all traces of the PlayStation 3 hacks and cracks available online, and now the company has taken the fight directly to gamers. "Consumers using circumvention devices or running unauthorized or pirated software will have access to the PlayStation Network and access to Qriocity services through PlayStation 3 system terminated permanently," Sony announced today.

"By identifying PlayStation 3 systems that breach our guidelines and terminating their ability to connect to PlayStation Network, we are protecting our business and preserving the honest gameplay experiences that you expect and deserve," Jeff Rubenstein, Sony Computer Entertainment's Social Media Manager, wrote on the company's official blog.

Sony claims that the policy will not affect the vast majority of PlayStation 3 owners, and says that "circumvention devices and game piracy damage our industry and can potentially injure the online experience for you, our loyal PlayStation customers, via hacks and cheats."

So there we are. If you're running custom firmware, or have an open PlayStation 3, you may want to stay offline for a while. It is not currently known if there is some way for users to run hacked firmware and get around these bans, but one thing is certain: someone, or a group of someones, is already working on a solution to this newest wrinkle in Sony's ongoing effort to keep the PlayStation 3 locked down tight.
Silly Sony...

That's what microsoft is doing with Xbox live. Atleast Sony had a good long run without pirated software avalible on their own network.

So I have what is probably a silly question to all seasoned PS3 owners...

I have a PS3 Slim and it only has 2 USB ports now considering that the one is used to charge the controllers and the other would be used for say a Playstation Move that kinda kills all your USB ports :(. And never mind the fact that the USB ports are on the front so you will have all these cables sticking out the front of the box making everything look very untidy :(. So the question is how do you overcome this accumulation of mess? The only thing I can come up with is to extend the amount of USB ports and to drop that behind the wall unit.

Down own the move yet. But recharging your controller will always have something sticking out front.

Yeah best bet is to charge your controller elsewhere before it's flat. I often just plug mine into my laptop while I'm working in the lounge because my couch is pretty far from the PS3 so I can't play when it's plugged in anyway. You would need a USB extender or hub if you want more devices though yeah...

@ ryan that is a possibilty just thought there might be a "nicer" fix. Its a pity Sony's design department forgot to include a couple of USB ports on the back . Controllers charge over USB port so less one. Playstation camera eye thingy USB less another. So from 2 you now have none and then they release the Move :?. Stupid design is stupid... :?

Or maybe I am just stupid... :P
/see's hamin lurking...

I am wanting to buy the new Marvel vs Capcom, that looks like fun. Busy working my through FF 13...
