DRM De-autherization?

Post by StarBound »

My bro told me that EA is releasing patches that removes DRM. While I would love to believe this I find it hard to swollow. This is EA after all. The company that stops all support 6 months after the game is released. But I found this:

http://files.filefront.com/Command+Conq ... einfo.html

It's a download from Filefront. The patch notes are as follows:

Also contained in Patch 1.06 are these recent major updated from the previous patch 1.05
=============
DRM De-authorization - if you've maxed out at 5 machines, you can easily de-authorize any installation in-game with a few simple clicks
Balance exploit fix – Added capture delay on Engineers
Balancing Allies vs. Empire of the Rising Sun --- Specifically tuning Allied aircraft rush against Rising Sun
Added the ability to see player’s stats in the online lobby
Added Co-op lobbies - so you can easily find your next best-friend-co-Commander
Official Release of Red Alert 3 Worldbuilder - download it above!
A critical list of balance and technical changes - click the forum thread link to view the entire list
==============

If anyone has this patch can they say what it actually does? And if so does this mean that Fallout 3 and Farcry 2 can possibly see the same light?

It is much smaller.

And I hate bitching and moaning about it. So the sooner it leaves the sooner the moaning will stop. Unless they create a game so crap that I couldnt care about it :P

I tested the spore tool this morning and it definitely works. After running the tool and getting the message that it had been deauthorized I ran spore again and it had to reauthorize it self . So the tool seems to work well.
