Torrent block bypas

Post by DarkRanger »

Hi guys,

We live in an estate and are connected to the estates internet. Does anyone know of a great way to bypass the torrent block of the estate? Reason I am asking is because I want to download a newer build of Windows 7 x64 and I can't, because all of them are torrents.

Someone told me about a website that changes the torrent request into an HTML request, which fools the router or whatevers blocking the torrent into thinking that it's just a plain download. Or something like that, can't remember clearly. Anyhow!! Anybody got an idea of what this is??

The estate is on an uncapped line, so cap is not a worry.

ALSO: If I am not allowed to post this, please lock and remove. It's alright by me. :)

Regards,

DR

Have the same problem at the office - I can download torrents with Freshdownload Manager to get torrents. Works like a dream and is GPL :)

You could just opt to encrypt the traffic, since the bittorrent protocol now supports this feature as of a few releases ago. Most new torrent programs should have support for encryption, which should be enough to fool most simple traffic shapers. Check out this site for more info.

Which estate is it, if you don't mind me asking? A friend of mine in silverlakes also has this 'uncapped' internet, and p2p connections is also blocked sometimes. Will ask him how he bypassed it when I see him again...

Estates with their own dsl connections. Wow, just wow.
Besides the torrent block, can you actually game online with that?
What if you want to use your own ISP ? S'pose you will have to have your own connection then.
