"Uncapped" Wi-Fi for R39 p/m

Post by Stuart »

Nashua Mobile has partnered with Wireless G to offer its subscribers an uncapped Wi-Fi service for R39 per month.

The product offers G-Connect uncapped Wi-Fi access for only R39 a month, with a fair-usage policy where users will be throttled once a monthly 3GB threshold has been reached.

Throttled at 3GB != uncapped imo, but it's at least something of a step in the right direction.

On the other hand, you're paying AUD79 (R730) according to that plan. That's like 18 times the amount advertised here. For R39 x 18 we'd get like 54GB.

Just saying.

I used 67.9GB last month so I still win :P

$79 is tad pricey (not that much when you earn dollars and not twigs and seeds... aka Rands), but then that's what you pay for a truly unlimited connection. No gimmicks.

How can you cry about caveats in a R39 "Unlimited" plan...

Nah, you definitely win. 4G unlimited trumps 3G throttled-after-3GB.

We have braais, sexier ladies, awesomer people, Ouma rusks and biltong! Keep your 4G. We enjoy life in SA and understand the need for you to have unlimited internet because there's nothing else worth doing there unless you're into romancing sheep.

With saltwater crocodiles, box jellyfish, spiders of all shapes and sizes, and the threat of sudden attack by Rick Ashtley, cheap internet is just one of the ways the Australian government bribes its residents away from emigration...

There's a total of 5 of these hot spots in Nelspruit, 3 at hotels, 1 at a restaurant I never heard of and the other at Mugg & Bean.

Meh.

Edit: On a related note, the Spar on my way home has a open network. I've noticed my phone connecting while in there, I still need to see what speeds I can get there.
