8ta with E7 as modem

Post by KALSTER »

I got the R149 2GB + 1GB promotion with the aim of using my phone as modem for the office 'till we get ADSL sorted (moved office), but have been having problems. I fall within the coverage area and get 3.5G, but as soon as I need to download something larger than 700 or 800KB (Youtube, email attachments, etc) the line stop responding. I have to reconnect to get it going again. I was able to upload a 5MB email attachment, so the problem seems to be restricted to downloads.

What is going on here? Anyone have a clue?

In case no-one here has the answer, might I suggest asking on the MyBroadband forums? There are also reps from the different service providers who can assist you.

Thanks. I did that earlier. Just thought I'd try here as well, in case someone has some personal experience with it. Not loving 8ta atm. :(

I've been experiencing problems with 8ta for the past ~5 weeks. Dunno what's up. Only downloads are affected and during all hours. :dontknow:

Seems to be better suddenly this morning. I am able to load Youtube video's and the anti-virus was able to finally update itself. Will see what happens.
