Twitter - Do you Tweet?

Post by DAE_JA_VOO »

So, i created a Twitter account, but soon found myself wondering why I'd want to "Tweet" unless i'm on holiday somewhere and want to keep my friends/family updated on my days.

Anyone here using Twitter?

I have a twitter account but don't know my account details. i joined up to see what it was about and then decided that reading retarded tweets was almost as annoying as those facebook status's people post about loving someone else soo much, every 2 frigging hours. :|

I think Twitter is for idiots.

To be fair, I thought the same about Facebook initially. But I have no intention of signing up to Twitter.

It's for twits.
If it is outside working hours, the chances are strong that my honest answer to the one simple question "what are you doing" would traumatize my family, friends and co-workers.

i signed up for twitter and linked it to my facebook status so that while I was driving to work every morning I could post random thoughts that I knew no one would read or even care about.

A one liner blog does nothing for me. I want to read a person's thoughts on a decent topic not what they are reading while on the toilet.
What I type has nothing to do with the people that employ me.

Eg: "I love you so much my baby."

2 hours later:

"Why don't you get the **** of my my life"

or..."I cant wait to see my baby later! Is missing someone so much, hates you for breaking my heart, is sorry and wants to make up, is fed up etc..."

Do these people not know anything about keeping things personal? as if the entire world actually cares about the inner dynamics of ther relationships? When my contacts start to do that i hide them from my updates. there. problem solved. i dont have to watch their useless status rants to their significant other.

What is the point of letting the world know what you are doing? Does it give them the idea that someone actually cares?

It depends - if you read magazines such as Hello, You, ...... etc - it would probably be very entertaining. I do not remember people's names - let alone who they are in the real world. So to me - it is just a passing curiosity. Did it on a dare - didn't use my real name so I cannot be located or tracked or watched. If someone happens across my profile - they are going to be really very bored.

I use twitter. I love it personally.

I use it as a research / advice tool. Eg, I'll ask: What's the best web browser for Windows, and get a handful of responses and opinions.
It's an opinion-sharer.

So, Twitter earned something like 10 million members last month alone, so they must be doing SOMETHING right... I still can't find a use for it that Facebook doesn't already give me :(

Use it to annoy in-duh-vidual people instead of everyone :P (not that you annoy people on Facebook. But i think if some of my contacts started twittering, i'd be forced to shoot them in the knee caps :| )
