graphics card

Post by PC G@MER 01 »

hi guys im upgrading to a graphics card for the first time. All i need to know is if a KFA2 gtx 550 ti will be able to play Battlefield 3,COD MW 3, Assassins creed 3, Hitman absolution and GTA 5 at 1280x720 above 30 fps constant. Also will a thermaltake 450watt 80+ be able to handle the gpu. My system specs are: core i3 540, 6gb ram, foxconn h55mxv 500 gig, windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. hdd 21.5 inch hd screen.

Good morning:D

the 550 will play those games no problem depending on what graphics settings your using, i have a friend who swears by that card, although i do prefer amd cards for gamind, the psu you might want to consider making atleast 550 watts, you might wanna have a look at the amd 7770 it seems to push a few more pixels for the same price, cod mw 3 bf3 might give a few jerks at ultra when the things get serious and the sparks fly

AC3 and GTA5 has not been released yet so if you really want to be safe, get a 680gtx.

You haven't mentioned the level of detail you want from the games. A 550ti will run 1280x720 at 30fps with minimum detail easily.

I want to play all the games at medium gtx 680 is way out of my budget. I'm also thinking of the HD 6790 and HD 6850 .

Nvidia should be releasing the 660ti soonish (august/sept). Maybe look at the 7850 if your going for AMD? Your PSU should (not guarenteed) be good enough for it.

The 7770 is a crappy card from what I've read.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/rad ... 135-6.html
http://guru3d.com/article/amd-radeon-hd ... -review/21

but it seems it might be on par with the 5770 so if your paying more than R1500 for one your paying too much.
