Post your Rig!
Re: Post your Rig!
U should get decent temps with the H70... I have my cpu stable now at 4020mhz and ram at 1667mhz my voltages are 1.3v and 1.64v respectivley... What's ur ram running at andre? your 930 will easy hit 4ghz with the H70... Its gona be fun! When u thinking of getting it?

Re: Post your Rig!
that is my point, without a sweat, i was actually trying to OC the cpu, and it bumped up my ram to 1744Mhz (on 1.6V), and it happily humming along, i am sure i can reach 1900Mhz. it is currently at 1600Mhz, i want some decent cooling before i try anything.
From what i read, the H70 is ideal for full load cooling, so it should be prefect for overclocks like what you guys have.

Re: Post your Rig!
oh yeah, the 6870 is freaking awesome, temps is between 45 and 54C, and i am now able to play Crysis Warhead at max with no lag whatsoever, as well as Starcraft 2 at max (55fps), it it isnt anywhere near as hot as my old 9800GT

Re: Post your Rig!
That's a hectic overclock on your ram! Doubt mine will do that...ya I read a few reviews when I was choosing my cooler they were very postive bout the H70 in push pull config... Will complete your rig! Andre just a question what made u get 2 sticks of ram on a tripple channel board?

Re: Post your Rig!
that is easy, a lack of money...LOL
but fear not, i am going triple channel soon (ETA 2 weeks), as it was my orignal plan to start with triple channel, but somehow i felt short in the purchasing, but it is just around the corner (going to 6Gb obviously)
as for the RAM, i am not sure why is it si doing what it is doing, but i aint complaining....
that said, once i have my H70, and bumping it up to your speeds, i am very interested to see where this ram is capable og going.

Re: Post your Rig!
thanks smiley man...
i was actually thinking (yeah, i know...), actually wondering....
my case has a 200mm fan at the top, which has space for 2 x 120mm fans, maybe i should do a push/pull setup with the H70, but with the fans pointing to the top of the case, instead of pointing to the back of the case?
what do you think?

Re: Post your Rig!
Also very keen to see ur results... post a tread up in the oc section when u ready so we can join in ur progress...
as for the cooler i rate get the H70 then when you have it jus see where it looks and works better..... the easiest and most cost effective way would be to jus stick it on the back that way u keep your 200mm fan which will have more airflow than one 120mm fan... from a cooling perspective id take the back fan off and keep the 200mm... but as i said get the cooler and play with the mounting....
what do u guys think i should do? save and buy a second 5850? or sell my 5850 and save up for a new card? i would love to xfire but 5850's aint cheap...
and im gona get another hdd probably for xmas... so ill get another 640gb and maybe dabble in raid 0...

Re: Post your Rig!
Well I'm a old dude (hence being a zimmer) with a family to feed and bond to pay, so I had limited budget. Also, we live in SA where it gets hot, so I really wanted the H70 water cooling.
Looked at parts, found something I liked, then read the reviews on it. Would have loved a SSD and maybe one of the HAF style cases but it's just too expensive. This is what I could assemble on a budget and works like a dream!
Had some issues with SLI tearing but solved them, and managed to overclock it without hassles to 4ghz... BFBC2 has never been so beautiful!

Re: Post your Rig!
thats awesome wish i had a gamer dad...but really nice setup there.the 460's are killer in multi gpu scaling so you gots some future proofing for a whileWell I'm a old dude (hence being a zimmer)
The_Jelly you wont believe the difference a SSD makes man - even the low end models.if you strapped to cash id say grap a kingston SSDnow - amazing price / performance & great warranty.if you got a little more to play with grab a G.Skill falcon or even a OCZ Revodrive (i think its called)....HDD's are by far the biggest bottleneck out there & SSD's change that.everything from boot to Anti virus scanning is boosted to less than half the time taken on a regular HDD.
guys - i made a thread under benchmarking called '3D mark 11' - if anyone got it yet bench it & post your scores there...but get ready for a dissapointment as its crazy demanding lol.

That is the temps idle and under full load from Prime 95.. I ran it yesterday and the ambient temp in Cape Town was bloody hot
so I am actually very impressed with the performance of the H70. Definitely worth the extra bit of cash.
What is a good freeware HDD testing program. I need something to really test the hybrid drive. So far it seems faster than a normal drive,
though I will try upgrade to a proper SSD as soon as budget allows.
