2009 Forum Awards nominations are open!

Post by Ron2K »

Right guys, it's nominations time for this year. I've retained some of last year's categories, while also introducing some new ones.

How it works: you drop any mod or admin a PM with your nominations for any category (do not post them in this thread!). You can nominate for some or all of the categories; you can nominate as many people as you like per category. Once nominations close, the polls will go up for public vote, containing the top 5 nominees per category (may be more if there's a tie in number or nominations, or less if there were fewer than 5 people nominated). Nominations will close at 12:00 forum time (UTC+2) on Friday, 23 October; the polls will go up on Monday, 26 October and run for a week.

So, this year's categories are:
  • Most Thought Provoking Thread Award
  • Most Improved Member Award
  • Friendliest Mod/Admin Award
  • Most Helpful Member
  • Most Knowledgeable Member
  • Best Newbie Award
  • "I can't help being annoying" Award
  • Friendliest Person Award
  • Funniest Member award
  • Funniest Post Award
  • Most Useless Thread Creator
  • Most Likely to Go Off-Topic
  • Most Likely to Stalk You on Facebook
  • Forum Lurker Award
  • Member most closely resembling their avatar
Kia kaha, Kia māia, Kia manawanui.

UPDATE: If you have links to submit for the Funniest Post, Most Useless Thread Creator and Most Thought Provoking Thread categories, feel free to include them - I'll make sure they get included with the polls.

And please remember: you are not allowed to nominate Tribble this year. She would love to spend the year as "Registered User", and would be very grateful to all those that adhere to this request

RuadRauFlessa, aw come on. There are much better users suited to these categories. To be honest - when Ronny said he was going to be adding a new category - I was really worried. But I see that I had nothing to fear. :D

Can we maybe have an award for 'Grammar Guerrilla' as well?

As opposed to 'Grammar Nazi'.

If so, I'd like to nominate ADT

A surprising amount of modern pseudoscience is coming out of the environmental sector. Perhaps it should not be so surprising given that environmentalism is political rather than scientific.

I really think that funniest post and most thought provoking thread MUST include links. It's kinda stupid just having a name without a link. Doesn't really help anyone. :?
