PICS? I posted pics... well only of the case as it is now with all my stuffs in... i transplanted all my hardwares the other night and the case is now standing in my garage waiting for me to strip it... that'll get done tonight and ill spray tomorrow... and yes i shall take teh photo's...

One thing i've been meaning to ask you guys is... trying to word this right... :)

The bezel door of the case is curved aluminium... which means that when i get the new door cut to size im going to need to get the aluminium plate "rolled" to achieve the curve i need... this i'de imagine should be done after its had the design cut but i honestly have no clue as to how i would do this or who i could get to do it...

If you guys reply fast you get twice the amount of images :)

na just playing ill upload a ton anyway...

So its thursday and i havent updated in a while... so i thought i'de just post a little run down on some of the costs that will be involved in this mod and give you all a sneak peak into the cooling ill be using...

First off i have started with the spraying... primered the case and now need to sand it down for another coat then sand again and start applying the black... you guys think i should leave it completely matt or should i do a light coat with some laquer for a little shine :?:

Anyway once the painting is done the case will be mostly reassembled barring the door which i need off for measurements... im going to source a decent lasor cutter in the next month and also get some pricing on brushed aluminium and find a place that can bend it... if i cant find someone to bend it ill build something that can do it for me.

Next up im going to need to find some mesh which ill be building housings for the fans which will go into the case...
something like this...
Image

the reason for this is that is i want almost nothing in the case to look plasticy... i feel plastic looks cheap so big no no...

next i need to source some decent sleeving cause that kit i bought is teh suck... need some pretty thin sleaving to do all the cables except the 24pin which as you know will be sleeved through the shower hosing...

Another thing im still considering is rebuilding the drivebay covers or just leaving then as they are... problem is they're plastic which as i said is ****...

as far as cooling goes these are the heatsinks ill be using...

CPU
Image
R877.00
Im going to wedge a 120mm fan between those 2 heatsinks

GPU
Image
R659.00
this baby will have 2 92mm fans strapped to its back... runs the length of a 9800GT or card of similar size.

Chipset
Image
R209.00
Actually just depends which chipset heatsinks i can get at the time i order... we'll see :)

RAM
Image
R558
These come in different heights so that you can have 4 sticks o' RAM with heatsinks on each...

and there you have it... i havent decided what hardwares will be going into the case as im upgrading end of the year. for the mean time ill be working on the case itself getting things ready for when all the goodies come :)

ill post some pics tonight of how far i am with the spraying :)

one more thing... The grey design will not be grey on the door once etched... its just like that so i can see what is what between the actual cutouts and the etching... it'll be black like the door... just incase anyone got worried

The grey circles will look nice if they are not a complete cutout like the white parts.

yeah thats the idea... they just gonna be etched with the lazer so once its sprayed it'll still be black but you'll see the pattern with the change in light on the door...

yeah i think it will looks the ( . Y . )'s! im sorry if anyone is offended by that but im far to excited about how this mod is going to look to care...

seems my modding has caught on with my friends too... im getting asked to work on everything from PC's to guitar cabinates! a friend wants me to build him a 2x12" cab to go with his Vox amp... cant wait to start! and dont worry... it will not get in the way of this mod... another friend has asked me to build him a PC but fiddle with it... meaning i can make it awesome cool! ill drop the specs once they're confirmed...

another thing that i would like to say that case modding has a curse... well sort of... i too lost my girlfriend soon after i started this mod much the same as dae and some other modders lost theirs... what is this lunacy!!!! update tomorrow :) stay tuned!

lol had to edit cause i typed moffing instead of modding! i so gay! LOL FAG!
