my case is goinig to be made of diamond plate aluminum and plexi
i will have home made hydrualics to open the side panels
and i will make either ccfl feet or uv led feet (still deciding)(i might change the design of them)
here are a few pics of the case design (done in autodesk inventer 11 pro)

I know nothing about case design - but I do like what you have in mind. Love the hydraulics to open the side panel. Like the fan grill too.

i forgot to add im still working on the drive bay panel
either it will do the same as rhe side panel or it will slide up
it will still be done with hydros
and i will make the hydros from plexi tube
and add colored water to it and make a resivor or sump in the enginering terms

Shame - but there are many guys here who have designed their own rigs. I am sure they can help you.

Hi, Change your fan grille design, get rid of the perspex holes. they will restrict your air flow something terrible and make a hell of a noise.

Have you considered Pnuematics? RS sell mini pnuematic cylinders. i think they are R300 each and they are not likely to leak and fry you electronics. :D

otherwise, awesome idea :D

I can just see someone poking their eyes out when working on the inside of the case :P.

Otherwise it is interesting, its like suicide doors on a car :P.

it acually isnt perspex its aluminum
i was going to cut my own modders mesh so it fits perfectly on the plexi fram and the the secrews are perfectly positioned but i need to move the holes closer together

thanks

i think my holes are 5mm and the space in between is also 5
i think ill keep the holes 5mm and make the space inbetween 2.5mm
that would improve airflow and stop that loud noise

The noise will be caused by turbulence. (Air flowing through many holes will create lots of turbulence and make a noise. Also the more restrictions you have in front of you're fan the harder it will have to work and will fail sooner. I say redo that fan grill, maybe make a design that will fit in with your side panel rather.

I say take out the grills, you don't need them, just don't let little prying kids around your pc then. Use pneumatics instead of hydraulics. if pneumatics leak then its just air, if hydraulics leak then its a new pc

Even safer would be linear actuators. Might be expensive though.

ja u right im thinking my be i could still make my own just i will make it a pneumatic and not hydrolic
thanks
the reason i want to make my own is i can add some leds to it so when you open the case your cylinders will light up
i will get plexi tube

is there a guide any where on bending and fusing plexi??

No, hydra implies that it has mutiple heads. Would work if you were gonna pack several systems into one box. Hydra also implies water cooling

Samaya has lots of experience with moulding plexi...ask his wife.

Ummm...let me guess on the moulding of your own feet part...you do mean the things which will be attached to the bottom of the case, upon which the case will stand, right?

Perhaps Maizey will foot the bill :) :D

Seriously though, give them a shot...much less effort.

dude, plexi does not like heat! and if you use plexi or poly carb and get it to hot, it will either catch fire or ruin. an oven might be better to melt it in. a clay kiln is way too hot!

sorry, i have no suggestions for a name. :(
