Yes as a matter of fact there has been developments  Just yesterday I made a new part :P

The fan grill took me the better part of yesterday to cut. And getting those angles of the cover itself right was very difficult

Kind of mounted. It wasn't glued yet but I had to test fit it.

What do you think?

I find it ridiculous that you can do such great cuts with your dremel dude :(

Really nice work :D

Leaving it that milky colour. The picture is too blurred to show you what it actually looks like. Camera phones FTL!!! I actually sanded the inside of the cover to give it that colour. Else you will see all the dust and stuff on that fan and sink and that is not so nice.

I checked up on Paris today and she felt very neglected. Lucky for her I had some time to work on her. It took for ever to get this bit just right and I have to add, WHAT A BLOODY MISSION!!!

If you had a look at the previous posts in you will see that I made a CPU cover which came out ok'ish. It had this milky colour to it and it was actually butt ugly. 8O . So I basically redid this cover today out of a single piece without cutting anything away from it. This is how I did it:

I made a "mold":
Image

I decided to try out my new equipment on an old piece of plexi I had in the workshop. Good thing too as it didn't turn out too well...
Image

I also realised that my heat gun wasn't going to heat up the plexi enough and evenly so I commandeered the wife's oven
Image

So the oven attempt went ok for a first try:
Image

I left it in the oven for too long:
Image

On my second attempt I nailed it and this is what I got:

So after chopping off those buckling edges I got this:

So tomorrow, if I have the time, I'll do the fan cover for it.

Hope you like, cheers

It didn't take long at all, I didn't time it but guessing it was about 10 minutes at 230'C with the grill on too.

Well I only told her about it this morning...

I will be making slots and holes for air to escape and enter in various locations. I am still deciding where they will go though, I don't want to mess up the clearness again...

Damn... I just realised I haven't modded in about 6 months!!! I should make a plan... But life has been a bit hectic of late. I'll maybe have some time to do some modding in about 3 weeks time or so.
