Update time!Guess what arrived last week? :D

My tiny little D-Tek DB1 pump:

Some 1/4" tygon tubing, and a bunch of fittings and clamps:

And lastly, my PC-ICE:

Image

"But, wait, that's clear!" you say?! That's exactly what i said! I almost had a frikken heart attack :|

Anyway, don't worry, there's a little syringe with the colourant in:

Image

Okay, on to some modding. I started cleaning the paint off the black panels of the case. This is the side panel:

Image

Remember this?

Image

Looky looky:

Image

Image

I just need to soften and polish all the edges, and then it'll be done :D

This is an idea of how it will sit on the side panel after i've cut the panel:

I'm pretty much screwed for modding at the moment :( My drill died. No idea how, but i got to it a few days ago and it just wouldn't work properly. I think i'm gonna go get myself a drill press this week though, so modding will continue.

That's it :D

God Bless
Ettienne

Thanks guys :D

No, the PC ICE is just fluid for my WC system. What sets it apart though is that it's non-conductive (and the PEFRECT colour for this od too) ;)

LOL no no, i didn't cut that by hand :|

I wish i did though...

I'm sure i'd be able to, but laser cutting it is just SO much faster :P

@ Samaya, no, haven't worked on Epiphany. I'll probably start a bit later :)

Thanks guys :)

Get ready for a hell of an update...

I worked a bit yesterday, as i went and bought myself a press drill. Man i dunno how i lived without this thing before.

Anyway, let's get to the update.

A few months ago i got a nice little koolance flow meter (thanks viceroy!):

Image

Image

This little goodie works with a PCI card that koolance sells, and with that setup you can setup warnings and so on. I'm not going to use any of that functionality though, this flow meter is going to be purely an aesthetic addition to the mod. So, i removed the bottom cover (the black piece) and also removed the little PCB. The plan was to simply mount the meter onto a piece of plexi to have in the top section of the case. This was made a little complicated by this:

Image

No problem though. I grabbed a piece of red plexi, cut it to size, gave it a nice bend on the one end, and then after some measurements...

Image

The two holes on the sides are mounting holes, and the bigger hole in the center is for the 6.5mm piece that comes from the meter.

Almost done:

Image

Done. All i need to do now is polish the edges:

Image

Image

Flow meter mounted:

Image

As you can see, it's a PERFECT fit:

Image

I also mounted the pump. Here we have both of them in the top of the case:

Image

Image

A nice shot of the flow meter:

Image

Then i quickly needed to get the HDD mounted:

Image

Image

All three in the case:

Image

I also mounted the reservoirs. I first needed to make the mounting holes:

Image

Fitted:

Image

This is the most amazing tubing i have ever used in my life...

Image

The next step was to make holes in the front of the case for the tubing:

Image

I also had to mod the chassis a bit to accommodate the tubing:

Image

That's as far as i am now. I'm gonna try and see if i can have this mod done before i go on holiday on the 16th. I'm actually aiming to have it done for this coming friday (one hell of a LAN is calling my name) but i'll see how it goes.

Say hello to Jill :D

Image

Damn she's cute...

Anyway, that's it for now guys. Cheerio!

Mike, the tygon is 1/4", and it's so frikken soft dude, you have no idea. I bet i could twist it around one of my fingers and it won't kink. It's also CRYSTAL clear :D

I'll post some pics of the drill press on my next update, just for you :P

Looks nice man. Pity you don't want to use the whole flow meter. Maybe you still can, if I inpect it maybe I can build you a bar graph indicator for it and you could still incorporate the proper functionality of the flow meter. Let me know, I am rather good with stuff like that

"Damn I still need to take over Africa"
"No problem... Supply them with showers, food and some decent internet..."
"Done... No big hassle"
