Animax taken off air?

Post by madmind »

Animax has officially been taken off air as of 31st October 2010. I say good riddance, all it ever aired were cheesy gameshows anyhow

Originally they had some pretty nice anime. But alass ye. 18 hours of chinese game shows and 4 hours of anime does not constitute an anime channel.

MultiChoice would like to advise its subscribers that ANIMAX, which has been airing on DStv channel 126, will go off the air as of Sunday, 31 October 2010 at 23:25.

The channel is going off the air because the Japanese anime genre that was featured on ANIMAX did not attract the broad viewing audience that MultiChoice had targeted.

Channel 126 will be reserved for a new channel from Sony Pictures Television which will launch in February 2011. The new channel will retain some of the very popular live action and reality-based programmes that were popular on ANIMAX. In order to appeal to a broader audience, the new channel will focus on action-oriented movies, games shows, series and reality programmes.

The name and detailed programming of the channel will be shared closer to the time.

And that is what annoys me because every time I went to that channel there was a gameshow on so not sure when you were supose to watch animation there

also if they actually maintained proper scheduling and none of this constant repeating, then the anime viewers which you were actually targeting would have increased.

not to mention the whole dubbing fact.

I like my anime subbed and although it takes a bit to keep up with it, I would prefer the proper 'voices' and required subs over poorly done dubbing which totally ruins the show for me.

Nope all of that game shows and stuff they had on ANIMAX sucked balls. and now they are only going to show that stuff. 200% of the time I can always find something more entertaining on another channel that is not a game show.

The channel set sail for fail from when it started airing those months ...years back? Ok not everything was bad but the first problem was the time scheduel. I mean my complaint was that the channel ran from 6pm to 6pm and had a weekend scheduel start from 12am saterday morning till 12am sunday night leaving you to continue with the friday scheduel from monday morning til 6pm. I missed Eureka 7s last episode twice on this and gundam had me asking WTF is going on when I missed episodes that werent showing.

Anime was replaced with reality shows. Anime series was stopped after a first series and sometimes even halfway season. Bleach had 52 episodes on the second run. They cut off the first run at episode 28 or something. Another anime they simply restarting near the end of the series.

Good ridance and goodbye. Too bad it will be written that there was no interest instead of writing it was bad management.

There's so much anime variety in the world, I bet it's also the most watched tv manifestation ever. So it's utter bull<insert variable here> that the problem was according to them, no one liked anime. It's the only genre of tv shows that I would watch rain, shine, armageddon, judgement day or what ever else. They might as well cancel the channel if they're going to flood it with reality and other gamely rubbish. Thanks for making another irrelevant channel dstv. "So much more" hey?

1. Crappy shows
2. Crappy shows repeated A LOT.
3. Dubbed Anime
4. Dubbed Anime
5. $%$# Dubbed Anime
6. No proper schedule.

I like my anime, but I refuse to watch anime that has been dubbed as the anime basically looses all of its quality and immersion.

Some dubbed anime are fine. But others do their best to be bad. I think thats the new way the industry works. Create something bad so that people can moan about how bad it was.
