I don't want a default system font that looks like someone drew it on the bus on his way to work.
sounds like you want Windows XP Pro SP1...

About time iTunes came here. I was very disappointed when I loaded it up a couple of months ago, and it told me 'not available here'. So much so that I uninstalled it :P It's gonna have to convince me even more than before to reload it now
I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes.

Apparently Jobs wants to put back catalogue music onto Itunes and is busy negotiating with Record company execs, probably as we speak.

Can you imagine the size of the back catalogues from the various record companies ?
As an example, there's apparently 95% of motown music that isn't readily available !

If Jobs can pull this one off (and knowing him, he will), Itunes will become the single biggest source of music in the known universe !
Essentially, it'll be the Amazon of the music world.

The reason he will pull it off, is because he's basically offering record companies revenue they would normally not get - there's no money for the record companies in packaging and shipping unpopular music in the traditional manner, but once the music is digitised, which only needs to be done once (and I'm sure Apple will foot the bill), that music is accessible at no distribution cost to the Record company, via Itunes. They then collect thier royalties in the usual way.

Clever boy eh ?
Well, look, it's pretty obvious that someone would do it, but what makes the difference is the leverage that Jobs has already in the market.

"yeah at 7 rand, a song get out town"

- Lets see...you buy an album from Musica for R140 and on average get about 15 songs...do the math and thats nearly R10 a song (nevermind the fact that buying a CD/Album generally only gives you about 2-3 songs actually worth listening to. Go iTunes....you rock!

Bondi - The Mac prices you're quoting are only applicable to actual SA stores...you can indeed purchase Macs a heck of a lot cheaper by importing them direct from the US. Of course...you either need a US based credit card or a reliable contact in the US to send it to you. I have the second option so anyone who desperately wants a Mac (at a really good price)...let me know.
