Darwin/PearPC issues

Post by StarPhoenix »

Has anyone else tried playing with Darwin....

I downloaded the Darwin iso from Apple's site and burnt a CD.
When I boot from the CD on my home PC it issues a "Kernel Trap"
error message and stops there.

Has anyone had a similar experience and found a solution for it?

Thanks

have you tried mounting the iso with daemon tools, clonecd, or alchohol 120%? Maybe it just didnt write the cd properly?
when in doubt, paddle out... ;)

Thanks po10cy, but I am pretty sure it isn't that: I tested the CD on my work machine and it has no problem booting...I cannot however go installing other operating systems on it...

I'm guessing that it has a problem with a device
in my home system

[700MHz Duron, 512Mb RAM, Gigabyte GA-7ZX mobo, 80Gb Seagate Barracuda HDD, Soundblaster Live, Samsung DVD-ROM, Samsung
CD-RW, etc]

Seeing as it does work with our 1.8GHz Celery Processor-based el-cheapo machines at work...

Hmmm....looks like I've answered my own question.....
now if only I could find the fix on Apples' site....
