That was a pity. I enjoyed having her around. From what her sister tells me though, she seems to be doing quite well for herself.

Some people seemed to have a problem with her expressing her opinion. :( That was the impression I got....or did she not take kindly to criticism?

If you want to get hold of Leigh, you could try here.
She says that CGTalk is a good place to ask for help.

@Leroy: FOr a moment there, I thought you were wanting information on CIneBench.

So far as hardware goes, jamin is right about not buying an Incredible Connection [or probably any other "budget" special. Depending on how serious you are, you'd be looking at nVidia Quadro or AMD FireGL graphics hardware, a fair amount of RAM and fast hard drives. COnsider having a look at the recommended hardware specification for Cinema 4D. Also go and look at the specs. of the "graphics workstations" at evetech.co.za

Hope this helps.

I take it that you have a good reason for not using Blender?

i7s are terrific performers even when they are not overclocked -and provided the application you use benefit from multiple cores, you should see some gains from the 4+4 cores that the i7 offers.

Let's not forget that Intel processors now have a feature called Turbo Boost. No need to go crazy with liquid nitrogen or relocate to the Antarctic. ;-)

Is your interest in Cinema 4D that of a hobbyist? Are you a student planning to grow a career in the CG industry?

Should be fine with a Core i7 2600 or thereabouts for what you are doing at home. It is just going to take longer to render.

At least unless you begin to make millions.
