Wizardofid's Media Showcase (56k warning)

Post by wizardofid »

Hi guys,

I decided to showcase some of the media I have been working on and get some feedback and input.I have recently been contacted by a UK based company to design new media for their ever popular model packs. They asked if I would be interested in doing a few packs so far so good this is what I have come up with so far to present to them.

What do you think.?

Wow - I like. Nice dark and deserted feel to them. Like the texture.

Thanks been working on it for about a month now.About 340 meshes all together, plus texture baking...and still have to do other 5 texture variations and uvmap's and texture bakes.

Very nice indeed! Is this for a modelling software company or for game developers?

software company that sells game dev stuff.

Wow  Most of that is Greek to me but it looks fantastic.
Not really when you start writing scripts to use in your modeling program is where is gets complicated, where things get really complicated is working with High polygon models 60 to 70 thousand plus, render a hires textures and reduce to low polygon model and apply the hires texture on that.

At any one time in a scene I may work with 250 thousand plus polygons....

Lol I work with photo editing as well where do you think I get my textures from *click* My camera follows me if I find some thing like rusty metal that catches my eye or road texture with gravel for example, I have found my self in weird positions trying to get the perfect angle while blocking out shadows and lights.......I use gimp for that with a few plugins also work with a few layers including transparency and alpha channels even a little gray scale.

lol even photo editing isn't as simple as red eye removal...

Wow = perhaps I don't know much about photo editing either  The stuff I do is simple. Removing backgrounds, changing colours, enhancing light and contrasts, etc. There seems to be a whole world out there I don't know. Anyone want to teach me this stuff?

So I have started on a new project...
not all bad, maybe one or two things that can be changed, like the specular maps, and bump maps

I showed some one else how I design the meshes used, might as well show every one else.

Note: a lot of pics 23 (923KB) in all, which why there is a warning label in the title
