Stock Photography

Post by Richard_ »

Hi guys,

I need to find a decent hi-res image relating to factory automation, but the only good images I've found are on Getty.com which wants to charge me $1900 for usage rights for the image, which is just retarded.

Does anybody know of any stock photography websites that I can browse? I'm willing to pay up to R100, but R20'000 is just ridiculous.

Suggestions?

deviantart has alot of stock photos, but you would have to read the descriptions on the "deviations" uploaded photos, and also possibly pay a visit to the user's journal for the requirements and uses, also further questions can be sent to the deviant/user. I have recently submitted my latest photos as stock, but doesnt fit your catergory.
http://www.fantasystock.deviantart.com (fantasy stock)as an example has the best selection of stock and she is in my deviantwatch , and has verious topics of stock... just look out for commercial vs non commercial, some only allow use of stock for deviations only(artwork within deviantart)
There is a large quatity of stock there.

Richard. There are lots of great stock sites dedicated to supplying great image to designers at good prices.

www.istock.com - good stock with pretty good prices
www.dreamstime.com - excellent stock. can be a little pricy
www.sxc.hu - free stock. make sure to credit when needed. Most dont need it.
www.photos.com - good library. Subscription service makes it the most cost effective solution when used right.

Hope this helps.
