Currie Cup Final

Post by Sojourn »

So what say you.... Bulls or Sharks?

Being a Cheetha supporter I will naturally cast my line in the sharktank and hope to reel in some BlueBull leftovers.
GO THE SHARKS !!

(Could a mod change this into a vote thread with Sharks and Bulls as options?)

Not a Rugby fan at all, but i saw the Bulls play the sharks earlier this year and the Sharks definitely played better, so my vote goes to them.
That guy that used to mod cases. Now I take photos. True story.

Bulls FTW!

Not to say it's going to be an easy game, the Sharks are playing well and they have a lot of depth to their team, coupled to the fact that the game is happening on their home turf, but I will support my Bulls to the death.

The Sharks. Obviously! ;)

There is the poll.

btw. it's Currie Cup
Not Curry Cup

I am really happy with the Sharks this season. They've played well, and earned their place in the final.
The Bulls have too, but I don't think that they're at the top of their game at the moment.

The Sharks also have such unspeakable depth in the team. Being able to replace springboks, with other springboks! :)
e.g. Last game, replacing Springbok, Bismarck du Plessis, with Springbok captain, John Smit.

GO SHARKS!!!

Oi... I won't hold it against you unless you're a Lions supporter! Or worse, WP!!!

We were discussing this the other day though, anyone who isn't a Bulls supporter will support two teams. Theirs, and any team that aren't the Bulls!

I am a WP supporter.

This is true. In SA The Bulls are like Australia... The main reason I find is whenever the bulls lose, it's ALWAYS the ref's fault. The supporters just can't accept the fact that the other team played better.

It's just ironic that whenever the Bulls have lost, ever, it just so happens that the ref was biased against them

I was at Sun City (for the Huisgenoot Skouspel show) at the time, and they aired the BB/Che game inside the Superbowl onto those two big screens.
There is nothing like the unanimous booing when a try gets awarded for a forward pass. What kills me is that forward pass try was not the end of it.
A Cheetha forward is in the ruck, on his feet wrestling to get the ball which is being held by the tackled player. Then he gets penalised for not staying on his feet - another 3 points added to the unconverted try, when it was the BB player to be penalised for not releasing after the tackle.

I hate the Blue Bulls... in fact.... if they ever were to to play the Wallabies, I would probably start watching some SA soccer SABC 1/2/3 broadcast.

I am hoping to see 3 things come this final.

1. Unbiased refereeing favoring the Sharks.
2. 50/50 calls going the Sharks way.
3. Bulls players unlawfully playing the rucks and loose phases by having a 2nd player protecting the ball carrier in stead of picking the ball up - to be carded.

GO THE SHARKS !!

Yea... locally the BB = Wallabies.
Truer words have not been spoken. I will support my team and any team playing VS the BBs. :)

Let me voice my opinion here. I think *ducks from tomatoes and beer cans sure to follow* that WP could have rather played the Sharks last Saturday instead of the Lions, because IMHO I think they would have given them a better run for their money than the drivel that was the Lion's!

It doesn't matter either way though when the cup goes back to Loftus!

Unless of course the ref screws us over 8) !

You see the bulls hasnt even played yet and a blue bull already blames the ref. Tipical blue bulls.

If the Sharks win, they win. If the Bulls win, they win...

As long as WP gets a clean and polished trophy next year i'm happy.

Ah, the great Currie Cup of 2256, final: the Blue Bots and the Ninja Sharks at the Durban aerodrome... The Blues will win that too, of course

I will say this though, both teams have stood head and shoulders over the rest this season and are deserved of a final. It's going to be a great game where either the Sharks can have revenge or the Bulls can assert their dominance. Notice how evenly matched they've been this season, with similar margins of points difference in separate wins for each side against the other on home turf.

[Edit - Durban would have been renamed to Zumaland by then

I want the Sharks to win and I hope for the love that is rugby that the Sharks have overcome their natural ability to cave under pressure...
