DAE's Skate Thread

Post by DAE_JA_VOO »

Hey guys. You won't know this, but i'm a Skateboarder. I'm on holiday and we've skated like crazy and taken some very cool photo's.

I was wondering if antone would be interested in seeing them. I know it's got NOTHING to do with computers, but neither do Chelsea OR Arsenal.

Should i post?

Okay, i'll be posting the pics one by one so that i can give a description. All photos are taken by Marc van Heerden UNLESS i state otherwise.

I recently learned Forontside Feeble grinds. Here's a pic of the second one i ever landed. It's at a skatepark in Plett called Messiah's Park.

By the way, i've scaled all these pictures down to 800*600. Is that an okay size?

Okay, here's a shot of a Backsidde Feeble i did down a Pyramid at the same Skatepark. (I love Feebles)

Sorry i'm taking so long. I'm doing this on my PDA through GPRS, 115kbps. I've got quite a lot to post, so keep an eye on this thread.

The next 3 are some of my favourites. 2 days ago we were out searching for spots to skate and we found this gap, so i ollied it first:

After the Ollie, i kickflipped it. You'll see that it's not the same kickflip in both photos because i did it about six times to get good photos. Here's the first one:

And here's the second one. I REALLY like this one:

About a week ago, we drove out to P.E. for the day, we went to a skatepark at Kings Beach. It's not such a nice park, but it's still worth skating.

They've got a HUGE bowl there. For those who don't know, in skating, a bowl is basically a swimming pool. But this "Pool" is made to be skated, so it's huge. All i had the guts to do was a backside 50-50.

What do you guys think? Of got some other really good photos, should i keep posting my pics?

If you look at the topics under Forums, you'll notice that there's quite a bit more to the site than computers.

I'd think more along the lines of "The Locker Room".

And lastly... Nice pics! I also used to skate a little when I was younger.

Here's another pic. It's not such a crazy one, but it's big.
If you look closely, you'll see a dark line across my landing. I kickflipped from the box on the right out to OVER that line. It was quite a big gap.

On friday i'll post more.

@ Rubberducky: Well i've been skating for over six years, so i'm used to falling. Not really scared of it anymore, because from falling alot, you learn how to fall without hurting yourself. Besides, breaking bones is over-rated (LOL) I've broken lots of stuff.

And yeah, about the graffitti: At skateparks graffitti is generally allowed. You might not see it, but there are bible verses and stuff graffitti on the bowl.
